Again, if you cannot provide the quote in which he said what you claim, then you're just putting more words in his mouth, in an attempt to make your point when faced with the facts as stated, and seeing that you've been "fooled" by the spin of the gay community and the progressive left.

Here's the progressive left at work.

You're becoming a self parody.

Supporting a stupid argument by pretending to be stupid(er) yourself will only succeed in convincing people of your stupidity. If this is your goal, congratulations.

Once again you have proven that once you (and those who agree with you) have seen the facts that I've presented, and have clearly shown that you've been putting words into Dan Cathy's mouth and along with the ridiculous spin to hype up your side of the argument, that you don't a have a leg to stand on.

So your only recourse is to insult me, signalling you've lost the argument and have no where to go to, but back to your childhood school yard days.

Dan Cathy did NOT single out the gay community, did NOT insult them and was exercising his Constitutional rights.

Sure he did. He called them arrogant, said we'll face god's wrath because of them, and begged for mercy because of them... If that's not insulting, I don't know what is.

I'm not insulting you, or singling you out, or anything like that. I'm expressing my freedom of speech!

Arguing a wrong point until people call you stupid doesn't mean you've won. It means people have realized there's no point in continuing a debate, in which one side is overwhelmingly correct, and the other side is you.

Glad he got fired. Poor girl was probably Mormon and hasn't ever had to deal with a confrontation like that before.

Next thing I expect coming from you, is your explanation as to how Omar Khadr was a "child soldier" when he killed medic Christopher James Speer, who was coming to treat his wounds.

For about the 100th time, those at not his words.............you're trying to put your words in his mouth.

Here is the quote from the Southern Baptist newspaper interview.

"I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,'" Cathy said. "I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

His words "our generation" and "we" includes all Americans and does NOT single out the gay community.

What part of this don't you understand???

I think most people would consider that "singling me out" and insulting me.

Thats always the game plan for you left wing progressives................anyone who does agree with POV is an Idiot, stupid, homophobe, bigot or racist.

Oh my god...

Why do you think he's asking for mercy? He's asking for mercy because of homosexuals.

Who do you think he's calling arrogant?

those are NOT his words............and you know it, but continue to force these words into mouth to further your argument. Well you lack integrity my friend and anyone reading this can see it for themselves.

Why do you have to lie to try and make a point?

The gay community and the progressive left have taken his words, NOT out of context, but out of reality and inserted their version of what he said.

This is going to be the last time I'm going to address this...............Dan Cathy is being BASHED by you and others who think he meant something other than the words that came out of his mouth.

They were offended and believe they have a right NOT to be offended and saw hom as an easy target..................say opposed to protesting the Embassy's of countries that kill gays.

Dan Cathy may be right or wrong on the issue he was talking about, as is the gay community. Public support in the USA is roughly just over 50% in favour of gay marriage.

But they are BASHING him his religious beliefs (right or wrong) and for speaking about it..............both are his "right" under the Constitution of the USA, something you seem to be overlooking.

I'm assuming you were held back in school?

I didn't read all of that dog-sh1t you just wrote, because let's face it... It's dog-sh1t... You're seriously denying that Cathy called homosexuals arrogant, and prayed for god's mercy because of them? Are you seriously denying this? Really? If you are denying this, there's something wrong with you, and I'm concerned for your mental well-being.

There you go again putting words in Dan Cathy's Mouth, and insulting me.

Classy.

Dan Cathy, in an interview with the Baptist Press, said
"I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,'" Cathy said. "I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

He clearly does NOT single out the gay community in his words.

He says "We" and "our Nation" or "our generation" not once did he use "gay" in his Baptist newspaper interview.

I know you're having problems with the English language, and you don't want to believe me because I'm not aligning myself with what you want me too.............so why not read the interview yourself.

Seriously though, you're actually the dumbest person I have ever had a discussion with in my life.

Why do you think he's asking for mercy? He's asking for mercy because of homosexuals. You really can't see that? He said they're redefining marriage... How clearer do you want it?

Who do you think he's calling arrogant?

OK, let's break the following quote into 2 sections for you...

SECTION 1 - "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,'" Cathy said." - Who do you think Dan Cathy is referring to here? Do you think this comment came as a response to straight people continuing to marry each other? Do you think that? Is that what you think? Try reading between the lines here.

SECTION 2 - "I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about." - OK... Now, do we have our thinking caps on? Ummmm let's try to solve this complex riddle. What do we have here... Hmmmmm... Well, he mentioned "the audacity to define what marriage is about"... That means redefining marriage. Hmmmm what does that mean? Does redefine marriage mean for straight people to continue practicing marriage? No, no... I don't think so, because that wouldn't be redefining it, that would be keeping it the same. Hmmmm do you think it could possibly mean the marriage of same sex couples? Do you think that's what he was getting at there? Could it be? Did I actually solve this?

It's dopp's tactic... Everytime the argument is weighted against him, he tries to find a way to change it, so he can(attempt to) come out on top.

First he pretended that what dan Cathy said wasn't an insult, then he tried arguing that people dont have the right to get married anyways, and now he's pretending that dan wasn't even talking about gays in the first place.

It's really quite hilarious.

I've have not sided with either groups (Christians or Gay Community)..........I'm just defending Dan Cathy's and the Gay community for that matter, right to free speech, and freedom to practise his religion, and the gay communities theirs.

I have No dog in this race.

It's time to stop beating this dead horse.

You guys can BASH Dan Cathy for exercising his first amendment rights all you want................the Law of the Land (USA) is on his side.

PS,,,,,,,to answer an earlier question, I do have Gay family members, one recently passed on.

I don't expect you to believe me, and assume you'll come up with some conspiracy theory like religion is a mask for gay bashing or something equally ridiculous.

Refresh my memory... Who voiced their opinion first? Didn't Dan Cathy throw the first punch? Anyone who disagreed with Dan Cathy's beliefs, were automatically arrogant, and needed god's mercy. That's (frank)ing rude! And if you start with that religious stuff again, I'm going to lose it... There are many religions out there accept gay marriage... I'm Anglican (a form of Christianity) and we accept it... So maybe Dan Cathy should be more accepting of other people's religious beliefs.

Everything would have been fine if some president of a (frank)ing chicken franchise didn't feel the need to insult gay people.

Why don't we throw equality out the window? Let's make black people slaves again, and take away women's right to vote.

And is the way the right works, even when they're in charge(and thank god they aren't) they paint themselves as the victims, and the rebels against the evil left empire(seriously, they did a star wars pump up video for themselves)... Despite the fact that they are the ones who stand in the way of just about every bit of social progress brought up in the US.

They create a mentality not unlike that of the nazis- " all these minorities are the problem, they're the reason the majority suffers, so (frank)'em" and follow it as ferverently as possible.

Have you seen his Facebook? And according to numerous sites, it's actually his Facebook page, so yeah... He's an idiot.

Anyone who can judge a person based on sexuality is an idiot in my book.

Chick-fil-A president, Dan Cathy is an even bigger idiot... He just destroyed their franchise... Others will follow in Boston's footsteps.

- laughs2907

It's pretty stupid for a mayor to come out and try to ban a fast food franchise. An owners political feelings should have an impact on the legality of his businesses. If people feel strongly about gay marriage than they can choose not to go their themselves. Politicians shouldn't be making those decisions for the people. And any ways a big portion of Americans still oppose gay marriage. The president didn't even support gey marriage untill a few months ago. It's pretty stupid to punish a business just because the owner has an unpopular opinion. Gay marriage is still illegal in many of the states. So saying that you oppose gay marriage isn't even a remotely extremest opinion.

It's the way he said it. Calling these people arrogant, and then begging for god's mercy because of them is uncalled for. Plus, I think it's silly that chicken franchises feel the need to say these things.

Some people say that Dan Cathy did nothing wrong, and others are to blame for questioning his beliefs... Isn't Dan Cathy guilty of questioning homosexual's beliefs? Maybe Dan Cathy should have enough respect to realize that there are many religions out there that accept gay marriage. Basically his comments made him sound like an arrogant a$$hole.

And another thing I find funny is that people who support Dan Cathy are guilty of clinging to certain things in the bible, while completely ignoring other things. It's quite hilarious actually. For instance, you never hear that those who are wealthy require god's mercy... Those who have divorced require god's mercy... Those who are uncircumcised require god's mercy... Etc etc etc...
