Ok... So an idiot walks into an office and tries to kill people. There are idiots in every race, religion, and even in activist groups (go figure).

Are you upset that one idiotic Liberal tried to kill people or that it wasn't reported?

If that he tried to kill people, I'm not going to argue that all Liberals are nice people, that would be foolish.

If it was that it wasn't all over the news, my guess is because it was on the news, but it just wasnt very widespread because he didn't succeed. There are plenty of failed murder attempts in the US everyday. They only have so much air time ont he evening news. You can make it out to be that they tried to cover it up, by all means, enjoy your conspiracy theory, but I bet that the more likely explanation was that it made it to news reports in Washington,a nd the usrrounding area, but not much further than that because of the outcome.

You missed the point. We were discussing what "lines" should not be crossed, when you don't agree with someones POV on a given topic.

You responded to my post

Boycotting is no problem, but vandalism, harassing the employees and threatening to withhold business permits unless he changes his religious convictions are not.

Needless to say neither is what happened on Wednesday.

Has anyone debated the bolded?

Obviously those things are unacceptable no matter what your opinion on the subject

You did not include what happened last Wednesday, so I asked you about it, and have now learnt that you were uniformed, despite the incident being covered on all major news sources in the US, and in Canada in the SUN newspaper chain and the SUN New Network.

Here's ABC World News Coverage
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I713v-Pyg9M

I assumed you would have heard about it, as you seem to be informed during the debate on Free Speech that has been ongoing for the past 26 pages.

I had posted about the Wednesday attempted mass shooting at the FRC two pages ago, and assumed you had read about it, as it was quoted at least once.

Friday @ 10:22 AM ET page 24 of this thread

A gunman armed with a loaded Sig Sauer 9-millimeter pistol and additional ammunition, including two loaded magazines, was stopped from entering the Family Research Council in Washington, DC.

Family Research Council is a Christian, conservative based organization, that voiced it's support for Dan Cathy and supported and promoted the Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day.

Eye witnesses said that the shooter was speaking out against the Family Research Council's Pro-Life, Pro-Family agenda as he tried to enter the building.

The gunman was quoted as saying "It was not about you, it was about what this place stands for."

The gunman also had 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches in a backpack.

The gunman faces charges of transporting a gun across state lines and assault with intent to kill.

The Family Research Council has been involved in protecting traditional marriage nationwide.

It seems this Gunman was motivated by hate and anger, and does not like the Christian, conservative beliefs of FRC or Chick-Fil-A.

His hate was likely fuelled by left wing progressives and those Democratic Mayors who got on national TV and illegally and unconstitutionally threatened to use their government power to kick Chick-Fil-A out of their cities because of the personal Christian beliefs of the owner of Chick-Fil-A.

These left wing progressives call for tolerance of other people's beliefs, unless you are a Christian and then they don't seem to believe your beliefs should not be tolerated.

This was no "local" area news story, it was covered in the Major US newspapers as well.

The New York Time Covered it.

I guess,if anything I'm guilty of assuming you were informed, so if you want an apology for that, I'll give you one.

I don't need an apology, I just don't quite get the relevance.

I asked if anyone debated that going past the line of statingy our opinion was wrong. This seems pretty irrelevant to me.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can be this stupid....

How can you possibly interpret what he said to say he thinks the guy should be denied freedom of speech?

- prock

To which you ignored the question.... and responded with this:

How can you possibly interpret what Dan Cathy said to say he thinks the gay community should be denied marriage?

Free speech is intended to protect the controversial and even outrageous word; and not just comforting platitudes too mundane to need protection.

-Colin Powell

- Doppleganger

question ignored.

next up....

Dopps/Beer, what would you guys do if your son or daughter approached you one day and told you that he or she was gay? Would you call your child arrogant and pray for god's mercy? Just curious...
- laughs2907

I think that was asked of you twenty times. Have you answered any of them once?

I don't think so.

What makes you think I don't have gay family members now?

This is NOT the point I've been trying get across. It's about the first amendment of the constitution of the United States of America.

The first amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

I'm defending Dan Cathy's right to free speech and right to practise his religion.

The gay community and the progressive left don't like his view on traditional marriage, and are organizing boycotts of his franchises, and publicly insulting him.

Do you see Christians organizing boycotts of ......let's say, Ben & Jerry's outlets, who have publicly supported gay marriage, or publicly insulting them??

That's the difference my friend. If the gay community and the progressive left don't agree with your POV, they lash out and take action to force their opinion on you.

How many times have you heard the progressive left claim that those (white) people who did not vote for Obama are racists, or those (white) people who oppose his policies are also racists.

Have you ever heard the opposite??

Has anyone claimed that anyone of colour who did not vote for John McCain, did so because they are racist???

- Doppleganger

Next....

Just answer my question... What would you guys do if your son or daughter approached you one day and told you that he or she was gay? Would you call your child arrogant and pray for god's mercy?

Do you believe in equality?

- laughs2907

Simple question, do you believe in equality.....
Your response:

DO you believe in the first amendment?

I could go on an on with your responses like this.

So, it's not one specific question that you've dodged. It's just about all of them.

Tell me (although, I expect you to dodge it), what question have you actually answered?

You can hound me all you want to come down on one side, or the other, of the Gay marriage issue.

But I've NOT been debating or supporting either side of that issue.

I've stuck to the issue of "Freedom of speech" and how people who are opposite of any issue, not just the gay marriage issue, should respond.

He exercised his right of "freedom of speech", on an issue that did not align with the left wing progressive POV.

here is some of what he posted of his facebook page.

Look, everybody knows I’m a little conservative. I make sure of that because I do whatever I can to make sure they know.
But to be honest, I don’t even know what that means. Sometimes I think it means government should stay out of our lives, but then again I think our government should be a Christian theocracy that makes everyone obey the Bible, whatever that means. Sometimes I think it means we should all support our military, but I sure as hell wouldn’t go fight…I just paint a flag on my helmet, give a few soldiers some tickets, and call it a day. And sometimes I think we should all live within free-market principles, but I’m a pro athlete, which means I make millions off of one of the world’s greatest entanglements of government and corporatism: professional sports.
