Yeah but that's the beauty of sports, its a risk either way. With your scenario everyone would of course answer that with a big YES. I personally don't think he's worth that much money to take the risk.

i totally get the age is scary.....and the $$$ is way to much for a 20 goal scorer.......but his toughness...and intangibles are 1st class....

For a young team like the Sabres he would be a fantastic leader. A lunch box work ethic and a hek of a mean streak....exactly what they need. Canucks need to win in the next 2 years before the rebuild begins, the Twins are up for renewal in 2 years and I'm not sure what direction the Canucks are willing to go in.

If Doan doesn't like what he hears from Phoenix, he'll sign in Van for about $5M for 2 or 3 years. He is not going to the East; he's considering it because of the easier travel, but this is a meat and potatoes, loyal, western Canada cowboy.

Once Doan is done, which I'm betting is he'll stay in Phoenix, then whatever plans the Nucks have for Luongo will happen. With Doan, the Nucks move Luongo for less than without Doan.

I hope Doan signs with the NY Rangers and he breaks his leg on the first shift of the game.
