Not gonna lie I had that same trade down.Might as well throw in Gerbe just for kicks..

Although, the only teams definitely better that the Sabres in the East are

Flyers
Pens
Bruins

Lightning - Might be world beaters, might finnish in 11th
Devils - No Parise, an older Broduer
Sens - Could go either way, but losing Foligno, a first liner, not good.
Caps- We seldom struggle against them, and they arent getting better.
Jets - Competitive, but not our of our league.

Canes, WPG, and TBL all got better this off season.. and more than we did I think.

Sens lost 3 of their tough players in Carkner, Foligno, and Konopka.. that will not allow their skilled played to skate with ease in their strides like last year.

Devils will take a drop off I think..

Caps are either the world beaters and score 8 goals a game or they score 1 goal and hurry to the bars faster than the fans.. its weird.

I used to love Getzlaf but after last year a big question mark. He looked slow all year. trading two great prospects for him might not be in the best interest of the Sabres. If said and done id rather do a Vanek/Stafford/Hodgson/Sekera/ 1st/ maybe Armia? for Ryan/Gets/Perry
