I love Doan and I agree it is time to move on he is not coming here and Darcy has to realize that. Get Bobby Ryan with a packaged deal with Ennis involved and then move Leo for Cullen.

Move Ennis for Ryan, like Homer mentioned before...Leo for Cullen and maybe move for another Center or have Hodgson step in. I know we are weak at center moving Ennis but, you go fo Ryan if he's on the block. forget about Doan there is no chance he is coming here why waste time.

I agree with you 89 when a player of Bobby Ryan's caliber is out there for the taking you do what you have to do to get him.

Would love to get Getzlaf and Ryan however, that would be a monster of a trade offer and Darcy would never do that. That would require Darcy to give up a lot and he would not be to thrilled with doing that IMO.

i'm actually not a Canes fan but i think Rutherford is a pretty good GM.

Well, regardless, good deal on the canes part, and I'm sure Sasha's loving it. All the sudden the Canes look like an upper bubble team. Not good news for the Sabres, unless we have something up our sleeves.

Getz had 11 goals last year. Ryan is a young 30+ goal scorer. Every team in the league has enough value to aquire them. The issue is that ANA doesn't have to trade them because theyre under contract. Their GM is holding out for a mind blowing offer and Darcy doesn't have the stones.

Not worth it to most teams, definitely. I think his true value is more in the 5.5-6m range, which is higher than the general consensus anyway. Attitude problems are definitely there, but he still has a TON of skill. Remember too, the cap is going up, so 7 this year is = about 5.5-6 last year. Still, there are worse ways to round out a top 6, esp with a borderline team like the canes.

I agree. Another team into the 7-11 mix.
Like the draft like Ott but taking Roy out of the lineup is a loss. He let Ennis be a two and Coho the three. I am glad Roy is gone but we need a replacement center somewhere. He ate up minutes and played alot against the top line of other team.

They may need to get to cap floor.
Its a short term deal.
He can be pretty productive.
I dont want him here but he ads 20-35 goals to a lineup that needs scoring.

I don't think that even scratches the surface of what it would take for both.

Ennis, Hodgson, Myers, Sekera (because why not?), two 1sts, and I think it would happen. Not worth it on our end, IMO. We're looking at 2/3 of what has been one of the top 3 lines in hockey for the last few years.
