Did ryan nugent-hopkins play a game before he started on the 1st line in EDM? Taylor Hall?

both of which are players that Grigorenko and Girgensons could be even better than (potentially)

- qcstudios

other notables that played in the nhl their 1st season out of the draft, no transition time in the minors? tyler seguin? tyler myers?

And, despite the fact that neither have yet to play in an NHL game, you know this how?
- buffalofan19

I think the sabres "style" is to keep them both playing top minutes and learning their system in the minors. But I'm up for a pleasant surprise if they want to give me one. I have to agree with the Ryan Nugent-Hopkins comparison. May be at least one of them will work out right now!

This team currently has proven two (Pom and vanek) maybe three (staff) true top six players

Grigorenko was ranked #2 player in the draft, he only dropped because he got mono the last half of last season. we got a STEAL at #12 AND #14 for that matter. Grigorenko could easily be our superstar #1 center and we wont even know until after his first 10 games.

Usually don't like to dish out dirt on players but I have some stuff on Grigorenko... Nothing major but will need to double check. #Sabres

did anyone see that/know what it may be?

I said maybe. When he wants to play he is a top 6. It is very frustrating

i'll agree, he could be a steal...

fact is, both players you mentioned had a skill level that placed them at least a notch above everyone else

Um, I believe you forgot mister 25 points in 71 games....that's right ladies and gentlemen, it's Mr. "yes, I can play Center" himself, Ville Leno!
(applause)
We're STACKED with talent!

Seriously though, I'd like to see Leino come back with some bigger numbers this year.
Because we sure as heck aren't pawning off that contract to anyone else in the NHL.

Seguin is the ideal player in terms of how I would like to see Grigs handled. start at the wing, progress to C in yr 2

i agree, but i think it may be the kind of "risk" we need to take at this point. play grigs at 1C with vanek and pommer...see what the kid can do. he's a pass first kinda guy, and with vanek and pom with him...they can make some plays...i guess we'll see what happens in pre-season

was listening to duff when he filled in for sylvester...he had a very interesting line combo featuring hodgson, vanek and ott...

really piqued my interest...

back to grigorenko, he may have the skill to play a top-six role, but does he have the stamina in an 82 game season?
at this point, i don't think so

that would be an interesting line, hodgsons playmaking, vaneks shooting, otts grit...problem would be where to put grigs or girgs or pommer at that point. 3rd line?

its quite possible he has a source that was close to that info. i dont think i remembered carolina was a team when anyone was saying where semin would go. that's the last place i thought he'd sign. i figured he'd rather be in montreal than car.

if i were to put money on it, girgorenko back to junior and girgensons tearin' it up in rochester...

unless they have a mind-blowing camp...

but, pommer on one side and leino on the other...with the center slot open
