I really don't feel that it is Ennis himself he is affraid to part with but what options they have to replace him at center. That would leave only Cody H as a true Center until Grigs is ready. Unless they think he is ready now.

The fact you think that is even somewhat plausible makes me giggle. Vanek is good. Stafford is disappointing and inconsistent. Hodgson would be on his 3rd team in a year which would be a huge red flag and sekera is a 3rd pairing d maybe 2nd on a weak blue line. Plus a 1st in the 10-20 range for those 3. Hilarious. If that were to somehow happen on Murray's drunkest night it would be followed 5 minutes later by Selanne's retirement papers.

There was talk that if Ryan left, Getzlaf and Perry might not resign next year. So it might make sense to trade all 3 before the headache starts. Maybe I was off on the trades but IF they do let go of Ryan they might just trade all three. Just a thought.
