DOAN IS IN AMERICA! A SIGN HE WANTS TO SIGN IN THE NHL? MAYBE!
- AdamFrench

Frenchie, I've been waiting for you to write blogs about the impending Phoenix offer sheet to Tyler Ennis because it's their chance to undo the Birere trade... But no.

10 or 12 should suffice.

he is required to serve a year in the military this year.. and then he technically has one year left on his contract with Jokerit but I'm sure that could be bought out.

Jokerit's GM said that Armia is gonna play that year.

- JVince11

I think the Jokerit, will be on them.

We thank Burke for that every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I couldn't believe that Forsberg got taken before him by WSH.

- JVince11

with them losing semin, the forsberg pick i thought was a good one. obviously grigs being pick by buffalo was good too. hawks also made out good to with the pick of teravainen

What do you think, Huddle?

If Buffalo had taken Faksa at 12, would Dallas have selected Girgensons or Grigorenko at 13?

I guess the "draft the most talented player" is dead. Otherwise Teravainen would have been selected much higher. Sabres had him rated highly too. They probably would have selected Teravainen and Girgensons if Grigorenko wasn't available at 12.

Good blog. Loved to read it. A breath of fresh air in comparison to the other Sabres blogs lately from other writers.

I'm still shocked you guys landed Grigorenko when you did. I didn't think there was a chance in hell he would get past the leafs (since he's exactly what they needed). I thought that buffalo (and the habs) probably had the best draft this year...solid additions to your lineup.

with that said......

F the sabres................wait, am i only allowed to say that in a garth blog. lol

Yes, I thought that buffalo and montreal had a great draft year. Time will tell.

Buffalo liked Ceci too. Glad to see he's playing for his hometown team though. I thought Buffalo might take a D at 12 if that was the best player available. D prospects is our strength so good luck for us that there was a run on D early in the draft leaving top forwards after the 10th pick.

when you guys traded up and got that 2nd pick ahead of us, i was TERRIFIED that you were taking Ceci. when they called zemgus' name, i honestly let out a massive sigh of relief

Luckily the ECHL isn't development hell for goalies. Only forwards and defensemen...

- Brian Huddle

David Desharnais would like a word with you

Although, on the whole it isn't the greatest indication of future success for skaters if they play in the ECHL.

i think you're thinking of reinhardt....the islanders took him at 4 or 5.

ceci isn't a small guy, but more of an overall d-man, rather than the big hulking brute

We'll just say I'm not a fan... at all.

I like Nathan Leiuwen (spelling?) a lot.

This. It takes some guys a bit to really get comfortable with hitting at the NHL level. A big fear of mistakes.

As I alluded to earlier, I'm not a Cat fan. Higher upside? Absolutely. But I think Kea is likely NHL'er whereas I don't see it with Cat. He's got tunnel vision, poor attitude, and his development has plateaued a lot. I had hoped the trade to Owen Sound would spark something, but saw the same old Cat. And this time he didn't have the excuse that his wingers sucked.

And I like Lieuwen a lot.

- Brian Huddle

nice work...

from what i've gathered, catenacci has speed to burn and is quick too...that was at development camp two years ago...

and he seems to be able to find openings around the net and finish as well...from what i saw at the scrimmage this year...

will he be able to do that in the nhl?

he thinks he can, and i think that'll go a long way
