That's ridiculous money for this guy. Just frickin' ridiculous. You guys can praise Holmgren all you want to but the fact of the matter is the Philadelphia front office is a train wreck. Their payroll situation is going to be a mess for years to come and they aren't going to have much to show for it. How's that Bryzgalov contract working out for them? - todstiles
I have Voracek pencilled in on 1st line RW with Giroux and Hartnell with Briere centering Schenn and Simmonds as your 2nd line.
Voracek is 23 years old, Holmgren had to pay a little more cause it was a 4 year deal. When he's scoring 20+ goals and breaking 60 points over the next 4 seasons, you won't be caring about the contract.
And for people female doging about Giroux,Schenn,Couterier and Meszaros being free agents at the same time, thats 2 seasons from now. I'd be more excited about how good your team is right now |

I'm sick of the stupid Flyers overpaying for average hockey players. Vorachek is probably at best a 3 million a season player... and even that is pushing it. Holmgren is raising the bar for every team in the league. 17 goals does not equal a 4.25 million dollar hockey player.

I'm just going to go ahead and assume this was genius sarcasm. |

Obviously you haven't watched him play. But you're a Leafs fan so I expect you to be unintelligent. |

It's called inflation. The other thing to keep in mind is that the teams must sign deals in accordance to the CBA. THe CBA dictates to top heavy slaries in some cases. That won't be the case after the new CBA. I'm actually surprised there wasn't a bigger gap from 2003 to 2012. |

I know that. 1 cent in 1992 is 1 dollar in 2012 but still doesn't change the fact Weber, Myers, Parise, Richards and Suter are making highest money in the NHL. What they have done to deserve top $$$? |

It's because you always ask to get raise every year, that's what it is. I ask what have they done to earn to be highiest paid in NHL? |

Pavel Datsyuk is candidate for Selke and Lady year in and year out, I don't see him in highiest paid player when he actually won the awards.
Now Weber will win the Norris Trophy base on reputation? Bourque won when Lidstrom should've win it and Lidstrom won when Green Should've win it.
Malkin has Cup and Conn Smythe plus mutiple hardwares during regular season. Does it mean he makes more money than Richards? |

Try watching some hockey because you have no clue what you're talking about. Why is it that I only see Leafs fans complaining about this deal? As if you guys can talk? |
