...yeah, isn't his wife in real bad shape?? That's a shame....couldn't even imagine....

Yes. She has a rare form of liver cancer, but they have not provided any updates, outside of her surgery in April. As one can expect, he's had a really rough time with it.

As it pertains to his career, I'm not even sure he's listening to offers right now.

Needless to say, hockey takes the backseat. Hell, hockey shouldn't even be in his car right now.

No one wants to hear that. Here's to Mrs. Moore's safety.

Alright, I think I'm finally over the Weber thing. Probably took me longer than most people. I'm excited Jake is inked, and I expect good things from him this season. I'm excited for Schenn Bros and excited for Couturier. Giroux is obvious. I think Weber was the only guy I'd have been ok moving real roster players for, so outside him, I'm not sure I really want to see any deals made (unless of course it's a steal or something for Philly).

Amen. Hopefully, she gets well, and he can resume his career when that is in place.

Everyone seems to like Talbot on the wing. Any solid 4th line centerman that win a high pct of faceoffs left?

He'd definitely be near the top of my list. I like that kid. Smart player, works hard.

I'm still disappointed I must confess. watching the young forwards in this plyoff gm replay helps a little though...

i found his take on the leighton/hoivenen situation interesting. could be right about that, but i see no reason to bring him up this season. give him a full year in the ahl, and let him get acclimated.

Because Russ is smart.

He's based in Philly, though. He's a great guy. Knew him from the internets and met him at the rookie camp. Sharp guy knows his stuff.

Already under contract too, no sense in burning 1/50 contract slot on a redundant asset.

That's a factor, too. I will be so happy when Matt Walker's deal is up.

I disagreed w/ that part, though I agree w/ his apparent disdain for leighton.

Watching the replay of game 1 pens series.....I think we will quickly miss what Carle brought to the team early next year.

The subtle ways he moved the puck in his own end....whether it be stick handling, using the boards right, nifty saucer passes.

I have to admit, I dont know what it is but for the past few seasons its been hard for me to get into them as much as I did in the past or to not criticize.

Maybe its just me but they are insanely frustrating at times. Crazy highs and crazy lows. The possible lockout doesn't help.

- flyer_nutter

so.... you can't get into them and haven't able to do so for a few seasons... but you're on a thread dedicated to them daily.

There is a large amount of Flyer fans that are outside of the USA, so I am going to ignore that comment . I could care less if those fans in Philadelphia do not take anything that happens in international hockey seriously. This is the same country where there is a huge rise in people buying guns for "protection" after the theatre shootings. So you will excuse me in not basing my posts purely on the norms of the USA.

Like you, I truly hope he does well. If not him then Leighton or whoever is between the pipes. My question was purely speculative, if he doesn't do well, and is as inconsistent as he was last season does the organization continue to stick with him.

It is true I only pointed out his negatives. I'm not going to sing kum-bah-yah after every negative thing said. Or give a positive after every negative. Too much political correctness bs in the world and not enough people being blunt.

random bashing of the states, makes sense

steady eddie puck mover and shot blocker...think that was a miscalculation by homer. think the current talent on d is good, but don't like the mix.
