I can say this much. I respect Dreger and TSN but with all the people Dreger knows and the contacts he was saying "he didnt think the Preds could match the offer" and he was wrong. That doesnt make him bad at reporting what he though the outcome would be. Somtimes you can be mislead with information.

Dreger usually reports what he's told and saves his opinion. Dreger also never guarantees anything unless it's fact.

Clearly he wasn't listening to Da Man. Sometimes you combine economics, sports knoweldge, history, personality observation, intelligence, and common sense - and you can do better than the experts.

On a separate note, I'm sure there are others like me out there.

I've come to realize one should take the approach to these internet discussion forums as they do a buffet. You look realize that might not be tasty and move on. If you take a chance in partaking in a certain dish that you don't like on the next round you either don't get more or vice versa. Otherwise you just skip the foods you like or you dig in.

yea but what about stuff that isn't a guess? likewhen he said Poile and Homer were going to make a big announcement and it never happened, believe it was last thursday. He even got WIP sucked into his stupidity. Hopefully but doubtful they learned their lesson. In the grand scheme of things, it's about causing excitement and boosting attention/ratings.

There's a huge difference between being accurate in reporting what a source is telling you about something that is happening. And giving your personal opinion on what you think is going to happen. When Dreger reports that something is happening, he is rarely wrong.

yea I guess it does, didn't think of it that way. I'd say he's probably more civil on twitter than he was on the ice. I loved it when he called that one Penn state supporter a punk and told him to they could set something up for a face to face. I bet that kid never saw that coming thinking Bundy is a media figure and all.

I've been face to face with Bundy and it isn't scary. It didn't take long after retirement for him to be dramatically out of shape.

Yes this. Another example would be a name thrown around in here from time to time but we all know: Eskin. His analytical skills leave something to be desired but his reporting skills are top-notch.
