No.

Can't believe how many times we have been through this.

I told everyone that Parise and Suter would not sign here due to non-monetary reasons. I said about 50 times that Nashville held all the power and would match unless given a trade they liked.

Now I am telling you that Ryan will be a Flyer. Not even just now, but for months.

We call throw out all the ridiculous Bog proposals and I like that guy proposals, and we can draw up all the funky lines we want. Ryan will be a Flyer. That is a fact. (point of all this is that Read and Rusty will not be our third line).

Cheers!

I think it's possible if the Stars are out of it that they bring Jagr back at the trade deadline......likely? no probably not, but he doesnt have a NMC or anything....

Yes. we could use another scorer, would be nice to get doan, but I think with the voracek raise, we're out of the running.
- flyersfan51

If we had gone and got Doan we wouldnt be able to afford Voracek. Either way you are short money for a new forward.

I personally dont think we need another scorer. We have 8 guys who have the potential to score 20 goals. Thats almost unheard of.

Check last night's blog and while you're at it, post the copy and paste Sheena.

Yup. Winnipeg would demand Schenn or Couts anyways so it's moot. Ditto for Yandle.

here is the biggest problem with an offer sheet... you gotta over pay to force a team to not match it... wont happen.

I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe there's dysmathia. (And yes, I made it up...there probably IS a word for it though.)

Byuf is essentially a PP specialist. No way.

He is ATROCIOUS positionally.

Winnpeg already relies on Bogosian in ALL situations. He's their top dog.

update-
BUF 24:06 per

Bogo 23:16 per

guess BUF played a little bigger role

Carle and Jagr were both offered more cheddar to play elsewhere by a long shot.

Weber signed with the Flyers.

Nothing says anywhere that Flyers were close to a deal for Nash but "kicked the tires" which Homer always says he's doing. And considering it was a trade no one knows whether Nash was willing or not.

And unless we can move the Flyers to Minnesota so Suter can play at home and was willing to sign BOTH of him and Parise? (And although there were Flyers offers out to both of them, I think most of us figured if one said yes, the other offer would be pulled.)

Well, there just seems to be some lack of knowledge/logic there. But it's Garth.

- bodiva88

I don't agree with everything Garth wrote. His main point was the Flyers have written 3 100+ million dollar checks and have come up empty each time.

A lot more money behind Winnipeg ownership (Thompson) than the Nashville group.

Well I disagree with his premise on that front, I find it almost unprecedented to extend three such contract offers like the Flyers did, and go 0-3. I don't recall it happening before.

The only reason the Flyers got the third one was because they offered the offer sheet. several other teams this year offered 2 huge contracts and got turned down by both this year. And if Shea Weber was an UFA, all those teams woulda offered to Shea as well and he woulda turned teams down.

It really isn't that big of a deal. Especially considering the first two were in UFA, both players decided to play together, and then Shea was through an offer sheet which Nashville matched.

How does a deal for Ryan work given the Voracek contract? I think Ryan's cap hit is $5.1M. I assume Voracek is not a piece going back, but don't know? Is there any speculation on this?

Suter had no interest at all and he still got paid a great amount of money to go where he wanted. Weber was an OS that was match. Parise was either Wild or NJ (which he said he wouldnt sign in division if he left).

Personally, I think it makes Voracek more attractive being locked up for the next 4 years at 22 years old.

The Flyers shouldnt turn around and deal Voracek now that would look bad imo.
