Fowler logged over 23 minutes last year. Granted, he was a -28. However, he is only 20 and fits the profile of having to trade for a young d-man who could turn into a franchise #1. There is no way he just trades B. Schenn for Ryan.

It's risk reward on both sides. Brayden Schenn could easily be as good as Ryan in a few years. Fowler has been impressive as a kid on a bad team, but Luke Schenn had a couple years in Toronto that had people raving about him, too.

B. Schenn can play wing or center, which makes him more valuable to me. He's going to keep getting better. Ryan is already good, I just don't see him getting that much better....and that isn't meant as a knock.
