Its still mere rumours, i think this scenario is different from a known fact Lupul didnt like him... but there good now so thats water under the bridge.
- Mapleleafs_91

Dude it isn't going to happen. Even if Ryan got along with Carlyle, we still have depth on the wing.

That is also a good point, I just like the idea of a

Frattin-Colborne-Kadri

- maverickJ

well thats a good line but as a 3rd line id have frattin on the 3rd is solid.

Frattin Bozak Kulemin is a solid 3rd line pairing

*** is a pretty good top six

plus with there "D"

Wis JJ

Murray Moore

Tyutin Nikitin

not bad at all

They also signed Bobrovski, between the pipes and also drafted a couple of goaltenders, in the first two rounds. Who knows? Mason may rebound, with a better defence in front of him. Leafs are pretty much on a par with Columbus, with a better offence, but a weaker defence. Goaltending may decide who gets to pick 1st or 2nd in next years draft.

Not necessarily, if JVR makes the transition of wing to centerman your statement is wrong.

Kessel JVR Lupul

Kadri Grabo ______ that empty space is for a better winger. Even bobby ryan played center in anahiem for however long, these are two-way players that come in handy. Its always nice to have guys like bobby on the team big bodied wingers

Pretty much. In Edmonton's case, at least 65+ games from Hemmer and Whitney plus all the kids a year older and the additions of Yak and Schultz could have them be better. hell, they showed marked improvement in a load of areas last year and finished with a lot more points than the year before, but all that gets seen is the 29th overall finish, not without good reason. I think Kruger could be the right guy by a lot of things Ive read too.

I dont think either team finishes bottom 5.

- GuyLaDouche

A non-concussed Riemer, a full year of Lupul(maybe?), swapping out Schenn for JVR*, and a more defense-oriented game should be good for the Leafs.

*I'm not sold on the trade... but Schenn's benefit to the team last season really was negligible... If we still had him, I'd be talking about a rebound year, and I think we'd be better off... but adding a top-6 forward to replace a guy who was playing #6 is an improvement as well.

You are right, that would be an amazing defensive line.

you'd want more of a vet presence though. And way more defense from the 3rd. I doubt Colborne makes the team next season, except maybe while Frattin is out.

I think that trade will be a wash. JVR is another injury proned forward, like Lupul. The only way the Leafs improve, is if both of these guys play over 75 games in the season and the rest of the team is injury free, for most of it also.

They got erixon and savard and goloubef as prospects on D as well. Their blueline is SOLID. There goalie tandem is pretty decent with bob, mason, prospect dansk. Imagine if they get bernier too

Its really just their offence that needs improvement.

True we would always be able to find room for Bobby Ryan, but honestly it just probably going to happen.

Even if it wont happen, its something to consider and im sure 100% if getzlaf and perry are not available, he is definitely interested in bobby.

With the right coaching and defensive detail, they can be competitive and put the hurt on some of the other bottom teams in the west. They'll give Anaheim and Calgary a good run for the 13th and 14th spot in the west. Edmonton will start showing some of their promise, this year, as Taylor Hall and Eberle start to become dominant players.

With their 3 first rounders they have for 2013 right? They can draft all forwards. They will be pretty decent soon enough

They should get their chances, but not on the first line right off the bat. Move Grabo up to the first, Bozak down to the 3rd, and let the prospects battle it out for the 2nd line C.
- Feeling Glucky?

Kadri has always been touted as a 1st line player so if he doesn't get a chance at the 1st line right off the bat, it seems like a bit of waste. Not to mention his play making style suits what the 1st line needs.

Nobody said Grabovski can't get a shot but the idea that Bozak is the only guy who can play on the 1st line doesn't make sense. A team that is this desperate should be giving everybody a chance during camp and preseason.

Why is Lupul injury prone? He almost died, but its not like he is out of the line up regularly.

You are a hundred percent sure those two aren't available but just dismiss the rumors of Ryan and Carlyle not getting along.

Well if he is better than JVR at camp, he will get the 1st line job over JVR, throw in colborne and mckegg in the mix as well but i see kadri more as a winger on the 2nd line with grabo.

i said "if" they are not available, 100 percent burke is interested in ryan... those are just rumours and im sure burke would know if they get along or not, but we know nothing. Its up to burke and knowing burke, he is definitely interested in his own players he drafted

That is a fair argument, I wish I can remember where I heard they don't get along so I could find a source.

Its just mere rumours, unless it was brought up in an interview or some sort then that is proof or bobby ryan has spoken out on twitter or sarcastic remarks about the coach or of some sort then it would be true. Its different to the lupul scenario because it was proven lupul disliked carlyle because carlyle never game him a chance or the minutes to play on anahiem i believe? but they talked about it, put it behind them, and its water under the bridge. Things are good, carlyle is a good coach and is the better coach than wilson.

I think that Carlyle may have let time pass him by. They should have went with the Marlies coach, Dallas Eakins, because he knows what to expect from the young players, on the farm. Burke panicked, when the team went into freefall. He should have just let Wilson finish out the season. We could have been drafting Galchenyuk, if he'd allowed that to happen.
