I don't think all three will go down again. Mezaros already came back from the surgery to play a game. If he was good enough to go in May what's he gonna be in september. I think Grossman is the one to worry about, really because Kimo will be fine if we don't grind him down all year. If it means finishing in 6th place then so be it but his minutes need to be reduced.

if it was a matter of them both being free agents, I'd take Ryan. But that's still not so easy to do, Semin is better than we give him credit for. However being that one would require moving 2 roster players the other can be had for an infinite resource the Flyers ownership has, I'll take Semin.

Someone said yesterday that he asked Washington for a 1 year, $7 million deal. It wasn't on here and I haven't looked into the validity of this.

I think there's a cup within 5 years if they keep this nucleus together. You don't need a norris winner to hoist the big silver mug, it helps but there's time to get one between now and year 5 from now.

He didn't call them a bunch of fairies...you might have taken it in that way but he was voicing a general opinion that I kind of agree with. You've got a team that has most of the right pieces to be a powerhouse, but it still needs work and you won't be able to go into this season and expect different results than last season.

He didn't say they were fairies, he simply said they're not as strong on the backend as they were last year at this time.


As for the Huddle blog...lots of trolling in there = lots of mods. They don't need another one in there like me.

In a conference call with reporters a few minutes ago, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said he probably won't pursue another RFA this summer, added he was close to resigning Jakub Voracek, and claimed his pursuit of Shea Weber was only because of his stature - and not because he is unhappy with his defense.

"We have to move forward," he said.

Holmgren also hinted that the Bobby Ryan talks are not dead.

The GM said Shane Doan wants to remain in Phoenix, but that if he has a change of heart, the Flyers have interest.

Holmgren said he envisions Voracek on a line with Claude Giroux.
