It appears the team doesn't view it this way, they have pursued high priced free agents Suter, and Parise, went hard after Weber etc... Snider desperately wants to win, and patience isn't exactly one of his virtues.
- PLindbergh31

allright but that's not what I'm asking, however I wouldnt be so sure about that these days either. Maybe Homer has talked some sense into him. I think as bad as Snider wants to see a cup, he's more than willing to pass on knowing he put a team out there that is capable of winning not just one but multiple over the years. Snider has nothing to prove in my eyes nor should he feel as tho he does in anyone's.

But again i ask you would you rather they keep doing taking this ADHD approach to building a team or not?

I think the Flyers best bet now would be to sign Doan, and trade for Ryan and Visnovsky if his trade is overturned. Say Mez and Read or Voracek and Bourdon plus a first for Ryan and Visnovsky... I would also like to pick up S.Mason for like a 2nd and 4th rounder.

Ryan-Giroux-Doan
Hartnell-Briere-Read/Voracek
Schenn-Couturier-Wellwood
Fedotenko-Talbot-Rinaldo/Sestito

Timonen-Schenn
Grossmann-Coburn
Visnovsky-Meszaros/Bourdon

Bryz
Mason

He may be impatient at times, but he's not impatient enough to give away Cooter and Schenn for Weber.

Not likely to get Aaheim to do that deal.

I've reached the point that if you want a team, support it...if not move.

I don't like the 'Yotes situation...it's a waste of time and bad business.

If you cannot sustain your team, then find a market that does.

- phi1671

yes I agree. I wasn't implying I'm moving because of a hockey team either, just wanted to clarify that after rereading my post

from some accounts the Preds wanted both not one or the other. moving along....

The only offer I saw that was rumored to be made by Philly did not include either guy.. Now if you believe that was the offer made by Philly, then they missed a golden opportunity.. No?

because he's getting grumpy.... in his older years.

Absolutely. He wants to win, and will try and do anything to do so. Sometimes against better judgement. Being a fan knowing Snider will write the checks is a comforting feeling.

He already did win if you ask me in putting a team out there that will have Giroux, Schenn and Couturier as your top three centers/forwards etc. and they are all under 25 years of age.

I wanted to be greedy and add Weber to this core for the draft picks. I wouldn't have advocated trading a package that included Couturier and Schenn. Stay the course at this point, a reactionary move now in the light of not getting Weber will likely be a poor decision.

Don't like this. I'd rather just sign Doan and forget about Ryan & Visnovsky. I think that makes them a better team. Btw Mason blows.

Still a good team. Having some cap space to play with around the trade deadline is a good thing.

My major area of concern right now is the health of Timonen, Meszaros, and Grossmann.

I'm really starting to believe that if we add and put semin up on that top line it will be disasterous for the competition. Especially after I think it was Jsaq mentioned his Corsi numbers are actually good. What an upgrade to Jagr he would be.

Yes. That would have been robbing Peter to pay Paul. Over time a lateral move at best.

I dont think doan comes out east unless it on a team that can goto the cup...at this point unfortunately thats the rangers. ...dont think he comes to philly without weber being here.

I don't think all three will go down again. Mezaros already came back from the surgery to play a game. If he was good enough to go in May what's he gonna be in september. I think Grossman is the one to worry about, really because Kimo will be fine if we don't grind him down all year. If it means finishing in 6th place then so be it but his minutes need to be reduced.

I think there's a cup within 5 years if they keep this nucleus together. You don't need a norris winner to hoist the big silver mug, it helps but there's time to get one between now and year 5 from now.
