Question is do the Flyers have the patience to wait on these kids or will they use them in a deal of some sort? - stveshdy
Think NY has a better looking lineup already? |

I'd like to see them stand pat for a bit. If a deal that makes sense comes along, and makes the team better, then sure.
They seem like they will continue to draft forwards and use them to add defensemen. |

Was it Schenn that did that end to end Orr like rush goal against Boston a year or 2 ago?
He may have a little more offensive upside than Foote, he may not have been put into any offensive situations.
Just saying, no one does an end to end through 5 guys & has zero game in the offensive zone - puckhead17
I think his confidence was destroyed in Toronto... Phaneuf was constantly on his case |

How far away is Manning from being a producive nhl DMan? What's his projected upside?
I thought GUS played really well last year. Is his size his limiting factor. I know some don't like +-, but he excelled compared to his teammates regular season and playoffs. |

During the rookie scrimmage, Cousins and Laughton were beautiful to watch. Whenever they were out there the pot was getting stirred, over and over again.Assuming they make it to the NHL and stay awhile, they will be beloved by Flyers fans...and pretty much despised by everyone else - Jsaquella
If the lineup at forward stays as is, any chance of Cousins cracking the lineup over Rinaldo or Sestito?

homer may come to realize that opportunities and resources are limited to get such a plyr. if Laughton looks more like a 2nd liner this coming season, who knows what a re-evaluation may yield. dominoes... - isaiah520

Phaneuf was?
I think he has a very good upside, I'm really interested to see how many minutes per game he can play coming in, it's his 5th season?
Above all else, I think he's more than a #5 or 6 guy at this point

I don't think Cousins makes the team. |

I think it's obvious how parts of Bouwmeester's game fell off the in the last 2-3 years, that it's not an injury or due to who he is playing with. Weber is a generational talent and arguably the best D man in the game. Not a great comparison. - MJL
For me, it's more than the fact that his offensive numbers have fallen off. It's that he doesn't use the skills and size he has. He's incredibly frustrating in that regard. He's big and fast and should be a dynamic player. But he isn't. And he's not likely to suddenly become one now. As Michael Peca said, he's casual and doesn't show that extra gear to raise his game to the level it should be. Now way I'm paying $6.68M for a guy with his lack of intensity.
If Flyer fans got on Carter for not using his size and skills to their fullest (and we all know they did), they will absolutely despise JayBo.
And for the record I think he would be 4th at best on our depth chart. Kimmo, Coburn, and Meszaros are all better than JayBo imo. |

He has some offense to his game, but he's not likely to be a top PP unit guy or a guy you count on for 35 points a year. Even in junior he never really piled up points. He was counted on for his physicality and defense, as well as leadership.
He has the natural athletic ability to pull off a rush like that, but it will not be commonplace. |

Sorry, although honestly I feel the same way about the D. Would it have been nice to get Weber? Absolutely. Are we in some sort of desperate situation now because NSH matched? I don't think so.
Biggest concern I have with the current mix of D is injuries. With both Kimmo and Meszy coming off surgery, I'm a little worried. But not so much that I'd take on an albatross like JayBo's contract just to have a guy whose best trait is that he's "durable". - BringBack25
injuries are a concern and I'd hate to run a bunch of 3rd pairing guys out there for extended mins. JBo's + is that the contract is only 2 yrs, but getting him for anything much more than a salary dump is very questionable.
we are in a catch 22 situation w/ the kids depending on how they play, but it could always change if someone emerges like JVR did...my thought is while bogo has a lower perceived value, I'd make a run if we really liked his potential. he may play his way into being untouchable and then it's an opp lost...or he may suck a$$ and we'll be thanking our lucky stars I'm not the GM. |

I like Luke Schenn but he's going to have his up's and down's people have to be patient b/c he's still only 22 years old. This season Lavy might have to scale back his attack and have the boys focus alittle more on defense. |

Talk was they weren't getting along...that he was constantly picking on Luke.. After phaneuf nailed brayden the situation got worse... That's why hartnell told phaneuf to suck it at the asg |

Things change from year to year. Last seasons statistics don't mean much. Prior to last season the Flyers have played well against NY. I catch your drift though. |

If he's in our top 4, and can play 20 minutes, (maybe a little over 20), a night & obviously continuing the physical play, the trade will look like a good one. |

I think Adam Foote is a real good comparison for Schenn.
Willie MItchell might be a more current comparison. - MJL
Adam foote or Willie Mitchell at their best are both worth a 2nd line pwr forward like JVR, so we can hope. |

I think he'd be ahead of everyone but Timonen and maybe Coburn.
Bouwmeester is a solid player. He's just never been as good a player as the sum of his parts would suggest he can be.
He's big but not physical. He's got a good shot, but doesn't score much anymore. |

I'm fine with Manning, MAB, or Gus being in the mix for the 6th d spot to start the season. However, after reading Bill and others if Visnovsky for his cap hit and term would be the safe bet if he is shipped back to the Ducks. Homer doesn't like keeping 2nd round picks anyway. |
