for Bou?
that weakens our forward ranks - puckhead17
i hear cousins is on the up and up. Plus Lavo realy likes Read. He did compare him to Callahan. Read could really boom this year. |

I was replying to Read, MAB, + our 1st in 2013. - moylander
Seems Read & MAB have had their bags packed all summer, I don't see that package getting Ryan though, unless a little more quality or another decent body goes in quantity |

Id say 2 is the top.. If he's skating improves he will be a beast.....he'll even hartnell got better...as for puck moving he's pretty decent he had a poop year last year but their still is potential there... Not as bad as everryones making him |
|

|
he's struggled a lot like L schenn, but he has the higher ceiling and more varied skill set...would take B schenn as WPG has needed a C forever. prob something like B schenn and MAB/Gusty for bogo and another forward.
that's why I harp on the JVR trade not aiming high enuf to get a better player. I'd rather get a better guy for schenn knowing I had JVR in tow. flyer fans know the deal - we have an excess of young forwards and we need to move one to get a first pairing dman. if we were good at drafting our own, it would be a diff story...but we're not.
only other alternative is to go the ufa route and that's pretty barren for nxt yr. - isaiah520
I hear ya but if you don't include Brayden Schenn in a Weber deal before the offer sheet, I don't see how you put him in a trade for Bogosian.
At this point, I would offer Semin a contract that is 2 year, $11 million and see how the season goes and make a deal during the season. I really like the development of MAB and Gustafsson.

He'll likely never have Weber's offensive game or puck moving abilities.
I'd be ecstatic if he reaches Adam Foote like level of play - Jsaquella
would that be footeian or footesque? |

the smoke has cleared, and im thinking luke schenn could be the next best dman...hes got the size and nasyiness to be like weber in 2-3 years putting him at the 25-26 year old "prime". - mydoglicks
Luke doesn't have the shot or offensive game like Weber. I would think he will improve slightly on his offensive game but I can see him working with the likes of Hatcher, Pronger, even Kimmo to become a #1 shutdown d-man like Adam Foote in a few years

I think Adam Foote is a real good comparison for Schenn.
Willie MItchell might be a more current comparison. |

I think his upside is higher then that. He could definitely develop into a top pairing compliment to a true #1. - MJL

I think it's obvious how parts of Bouwmeester's game fell off the in the last 2-3 years, that it's not an injury or due to who he is playing with. Weber is a generational talent and arguably the best D man in the game. Not a great comparison. - MJL
Well we finally agree on one item. That Weber is 1 of a kind
Other than that we can disagree |

During the rookie scrimmage, Cousins and Laughton were beautiful to watch. Whenever they were out there the pot was getting stirred, over and over again.Assuming they make it to the NHL and stay awhile, they will be beloved by Flyers fans...and pretty much despised by everyone else |

Was it Schenn that did that end to end Orr like rush goal against Boston a year or 2 ago?
He may have a little more offensive upside than Foote, he may not have been put into any offensive situations.
Just saying, no one does an end to end through 5 guys & has zero game in the offensive zone |

When I look at Bouwmeester and his 6.68 Cap hit. I ask myself in what category is he among the best in the League? And my answer is none.
Unless you want to count durability and playing high minutes. - MJL
He is a great skater and logs a ton of minutes, so he has that going for him |

it should, read is a good player. not great in one particular skill set, but solid enough to be an effective in all three zones. |

homer may come to realize that opportunities and resources are limited to get such a plyr. if Laughton looks more like a 2nd liner this coming season, who knows what a re-evaluation may yield. dominoes...

Question is do the Flyers have the patience to wait on these kids or will they use them in a deal of some sort? |
