They could solve that issue by signing a free agent who can chip in 15 goals. I suggest Huselius as a cheap option. He's been injured that past two seasons but when healthy has produced very solid numbers.

They also have Semin and Doan but they will cost much more.

Doan isn't coming here. I believe he will stay in Phoenix, or sign with LA, or the Rangers. Flyers are probably no better than 4th on his list.

Huselius isn't a bad idea, I wouldn't be opposed to Semin at this point either. Provided its a short deal years wise.

I don't want Doan for multiple years on a 35+ contract at the rumored tag.

I'd take Semin on a 1 year deal only. I'd even go as high as $6.5 million to bring him here, but I don't want to committ to him more than just 1 year.

Before the offer sheet to Weber, it seemed like everyone was completely anti-Bouwmeester but now a lot of people are entertaining the idea of acquiring him. What has changed from before we signed Weber to the offer sheet to now? We don't need a new toy just because the Rangers got one, especially an expensive toy like J-Bo.

He scores 20+ and is usually good for 50 points. His demands cant be high b/c hes coming off of two years with an injury. He's played 41 games the last two years but prior to that he's been pretty healthy.

Had the Flyers landed Weber, Doan would make more sense as he could be the last piece. Now it doesn't make much sense to sign Doan.

well, he used to put up numbers like that but he's only played 40 or so games the last two years combined. could be a camp tryout guy.

I don't know if the Flyers are interested or not but its worth a call to find out. I think he could be a steal especially if he's healthy.

I'm interested in ways of improving the club. The talent they have on the blueline is coming off of some pretty rough injuries. They have cap space, and Bouwmeester is a clear upgrade over Gustafsson/Bourdon/Lilja/Gervais.

It's not the talent of J-Bo that bothers me, it's the cap hit. That's way to much for the likes of Bouwmeester. I'd much rather wait until the deadline to evaluate things and worst case scenario, trade for J-Bo.

Is JBo A better option the Mezzy? I guess with the back surgery he might be. Plus he is Right Handed. But I'm not 100% sold on that.

Sure, he's overpaid. But it's not tied up in a long-term deal and he comes off the books when Giroux, B. Schenn and Couturier's current contracts are up.

(edit: plus he gives you another year to try to find a long-term solution to a Kimmo replacement -- if he's not it)

I see what you're saying but I would still have to pass. Just don't want that kind of money tied up on a guy like Bouwmeester.

at this point -- I want a scorer for G more so than shut down center. Couturier, Read Meszaros and a first rounder for Ryan, Fowler, and Sbisa.

Hartnell - Giroux - Ryan
Simmonds - Briere - Voracek
Fedotenko - Schenn - Wellwood
Sestito - Talbot - Rinaldo

Timonen - Schenn
Coburn - Grossmann
Fowler - Sbisa
Gervais - Lilja

Weak 3rd line and secondary scoring IMHO. D looks amazing though. Homer said not going to blow up the team...that is kinda blowing it all up don't you think?
