I will admit. I enjoy watching ginger snaps getting pummeled. But marchand is just as much of a scum bag. - Deadmau55
Yeah it's really hard to like either team, I'd be happy if Bergeron was on my team though... |

You just can't beat Sedin's bobble head impression! - As_I_See_It
At that point and time, of the series, if Sedin, or anybody would have dropped that little rat, they would have won that series. Of course that idiot who coached the Canucks told his players to stick to the plan. He forgot it was the Winter Olympics, not the Summer Olympics. No points for diving, in the Winter Olympics. |

Luongo would be a waste on the Leafs. Leafs would just lose draft position with Luongo and be tied to an 8 year contract. Forget it! Keep him! You signed him! - PrinceLH

The leafs don't want Lou because of some misplaced sense of pride they have. They don't want Lou, because it hurts to admit that he's a great goalie, because of the stupid smug look on Canucks fans faces. The Canucks are Canada's team, when that title used to belong with the leafs. That hurts to admit. I can deal with that. Get over it. Lou will put you in the playoffs. Simple as that. - Deadmau55
I'd take Lou in TO if the price was right. He's a better goalie than what we have. I guarantee the Leafs players would welcome him and that's really all that matters.
Please don't say Vancouver is Canada's team. Most of the country despises the Canucks and it's not due to their record. Ottawa was real close to the cup in 07 and people actually got behind them. Same goes for the last runs by Edmonton and Calgary. Everyone around these parts were cheering for Boston against Vancouver. They are not Canada's team.
They actually have a lot in common with Ottawa when the Sens were top dogs in the East for a few. They were dominant in the regular season, failed miserably in the playoffs, had one run where the got real close and that was that. Not championship material when the games get tough and no bounce back. Vancouver displayed that with their humbling defeat at the hands of the Kings. Still a much better team than Toronto but their fans are kidding themselves if they think the Canucks will win the Cup with that core. They had their shot and won't get back in the near future. |

let's compare to see which team has a worse gm
last 2 columbus draft picks: murray and johannsen (you think langenskod (sp?) was good, this kid is his equal). reilly will be good. murray is the consensus #1 d-man in the draft. don't argue.
the last draft pick that's been a regular for toronto is luke schenn drafted 5th overall in 2008. i'm not counting kadri yet. Thats a stunning 29 players not counting this year's draft who have never played in the nhl.
Columbus' top 6 includes 6 legitimate 2nd line players and 0 legitimate 1st line players
Toronto's top 6 includes 1 legit 1st line player and 4 legit 2nd line players.
the bottom six doesn't leave much to choose from neither does the defense or goaltending so really toronto isn't that much better than columbus. you can't argue with results and draft order.

Pretty sure since 1970(Vancouvers first season) the Leafs and the Canucks have made the playoffs the same amount of times. So recently you have been better, but have no cup to show for it. But keep being cocky and arrogant - dionschenn
cocky and arrogant for making the playoffs and competing for the stanely cup in the finals wow that amazes me.... like congrats you deserve an award.... oh wait there is no reward So edmonton made the finals against carolina, they made it that one year and were poop ever since. *clap clap clap* bravo |

Alas every fan base has it's share of idiots. Damn you, law of averages!!! - lumlums
Oh definitely.. and I would even say Vancouver is one of the worsts... I hate how many "bandwagon" and fairweather fans we have. I know about a dozen people (mostly girls) who don't watch 1 regular season Canucks game but when playoffs roll around they are all of a sudden die hard fans.
I love talking hockey with fans of any team.. as long as they are level headed. A few things bother me more than anything... people who rip on the sedins.. or Lu with no real reason such as calling them sisters... bringing up the riots... and saying they would rather have a cup 30 years before they were born over playoffs the past 8 years.
I respect a good history and tradition... but if Canucks had won a cup back in 1975 lets say.. I would not care.. it would not change the fact that since I have been a fan... they have not won a cup.. thats what I want to see.. I want to witness a cup. I was at game 7 2 years ago.. and it was beyond devestating... I got a taste of it..and now I want the whole thing. |

There is good reason why people call the Sedin's "sisters". Your own fans even rip on Lu. It's hockey, fans of other teams are going to say things that put down your team. |

I'm not being cocky and arrogant... I hate Kesler and his stupid diving... hes too good to be doing that poop. There are a lot of things about the Canucks that bother me... but right now this team has a good opportunity to win the cup.. their window is closing and I'm getting anxious.. I've been a fan for about 15 years.. and overall the quality of hockey I have witnessed has been great... and right now.. all this team has left to prove is winning the cup.
I shake my head at people who think Lu wouldn't help your team... that they don't care about missing the playoffs... or that they see no difference in making it to game 7 of the SCF or missing the playoffs. Those are stupid comments.

Fair enough, please excuse me if this is short, I'm on my phone. I disagree. Canada does not just have one team, and it stays like that forever. I feel like, because Vancouver has been so successful, they are the best chance to bring the cup back. No other team in Canada has been nearly as dominant in a long time. They are scumbags, but successful scumbags. That's why they are hated. The hero nobody wants. They are Canada's batman. |

i will correct you. canada was behind edmonton and calgary but not ottawa. so much is media related and hnic is too critical of vancouver. when the lose the contract and tsn takes over saturday night, things will change for the better because national coverage won't be leaf based.
you say we won't win with this core but 1. the core has changed already with schneider and JG and 2. toronto doesn't even have a core.
to the L.A. guy. dude you had an amazing once in a generation run. it was still an 8th placed team and you have some terrible long term deals to work with. you had your cup. you'll miss the playoffs in 2014 when the league next resumes.

No players who win hart trophies and art ross trophies should be called sisters. They are skilled players... they don't play a rough and tumble game. They are paid to score goals and help this team win on the scoreboard. How many fights has Kessel been in?
Hank is the 2nd leading iron man in the league right now.. just behing Jbo... obviously he is tougher than people give him credit for.
Fans who blame Lu for every shortfall of this team are idiots... real fans... the people who actually follow hockey and this team know Lu has been great.. and gave this team a great chance to win. |
