I thought Huddle already mentioned his skating has improved alot. - wolfos412
It's never been a real weakness for Biggs--- it's all about his hockey sense and learning to think the game better. He skates well, has a big shot, good hands. He just needs to learn to create offense. |

It would be nice if they signed Franson to a contract already. - dmnted
They offered him like $860,000 per year for 2 years. He's holding out till they can give him 82 games. |

well with the new skating coach, hopefully that will improve. - dmnted
does that coach work with the marlies as well? |
|
|

this is a real stupid question but, how did we not draft Saad? I thought Burkey loved Americans! Like WTF! - mykokes
The "rumors" at the time said he had a bad attitude. Could see Burke staying away from that.
Keep in mind... Burke moved Hayes too. |

Yea. Underhill is with all the prospects, Marlies and Leafs who are in town at the MCC these days working with them already. |

I would assume, because I don't consider Orr a leaf anymore. |

skating is relative tho.. i dont think he's where he needs to be at the pro level yet
in college yeah he looked fine enough.. but thats nothing compared to the pros.. he will have to learn to be a dominate AHL skater to be an average NHL skater. |

Oh for sure. Every player has to learn to get better at skating, but he's always been a mobile guy for his size and slightly above average in his skating against his own age group. And it's been improving a lot. |

good to hear
some pro coaching should probably expedite the process a bit then
hopefully anyways. |

Isn't Rosehill a younger healthier Orr? The only thing that makes sense for him to be there is out of respect. I don't think people consider him threatening since last year happened. |

the way carlyle likes his teams to play?
oh yeah for sure.. he'll want his teams to be play hard nosed and physical.. which will rattle the tempers of the opposition (if it works with this group) and when that happens, you better damn well have a guy who can stand up and defend the guys when the other teams starts looking to fight |

Another move I didn't like. Seemed more like a purging of the old regime to me. Change for the sake of change.
That said, I like that he's not moving kids out now, and I know he's not responsible for the other blunder (Steen and Carlo for Stempniak), but I can't help but think the returns burke could've gotten for all the discarded prospects could've been higher had he packaged them rather than moving them separately. Ie. Hayes/Tlusty/Stralman for so and so....rather than making a mistake of adding Paradis for Tlusty....like wtf, a 2nd for Stralman, Hayes for Ross. |

Ahh I see, good to know. Still Orr better be taking those skating lessons seriously, because my cousin couls skate circles around him. |

I like Ross... a lot.
But that was one of those trades that made little sense to me. We'd love to have a guy like Hayes right about now. Him and JVR in the Top Six immediately adds some size (not truculence, but size) |
