old goalie who has been good his whole career, but still has a massive contract and makes 5.5 mil a year (the money isnt outrageous, but the # of years are).

young goalie who has a bit more potential than reimer, has 1 year left on contract, doesnt make much money, yet...but has the POTENTIAL to be #1 for 10+ years if all goes well.

possibly a good goalie to have split time with reimer, although his size may clash with Allaire's goaltending coach style.

overall, id say bernier is a bit more expensive because he is young and doenst have a long contract.
