I hear a lot about Frattin, is he a projected 3rd line type of grinder?

Witht the ceiling of being a 2nd liner. Hasn't been able to translate his AHL scoring to the NHL but has great work ethic and is strong.

man I hope not.

Not that Frattin's a future 1st liner or anything, but he's the only prospect that plays with any grit, right now, and he's ready.

i agree i wish it wasnt frattin.

do i think Ashton could replace him in a year, yes, i do.

we have some big guys in the system, i think we could survive. but i do like Frattin.

he's got great speed and a top 6 shot. He's 6'0, 200lbs and plays bigger than that, hits hard for his size.

Burkie likes to think he's got 2nd line potential, which he may have, but will be a very good 3rd liner with scoring ability at worst.

would prefer to keep him.

I agree, but his quote was somthing along the lines of:

"We are not willing to ship out key pieces for an unproven goaltender"

People took this as they won't trade for someone unproven.

The part I focussed on was "Will not trade key pieces"

If he ships out a 2nd and a mid level prospect, then its not too bad.

I said earlier that I think he's ceiling is a Clark MacArthur type player, but my bet is he'll be an NHL 3rd line grinder type guy. Probably pretty clutch though. Some people here are approaching him like he's Toews or something though.

My guess is that Burke may feel having Ashton/Frattin is redundant.

Different situation maybe, but at the time I would say that he had less value that Luongo does now.

Not much we can really do by arguing it, I guess we'll just have to wait until the trade. In the end, neither of us really knows
