That's ridiculous. Did you see the return for Nash? I imagine half that for Luongo - Leafmania84
What exactly has Nash done compared to Luongo?
Nash is more overrated the Jordan Staal. |

Mike Augello: Bernier Buzz; Leafs Q & A - July 24th Edition - mikeinbuffalo
why do these rumours keep popping up? reimer is better than bernier. it makes no sense to make that deal.
the reality is that the leafs either get a veteran to play behind reimer or they get a #1, like luongo, and let reimer develop behind him for 4 years.
if you look at what bishop brought, what lindback got, etc., bernier has no more worth than those guys based on nhl experience. those are the facts. |

What has Lou done? Don't say gold medal, because when you pull on the maple leaf at an Olympic or WC event you've got a 1 in 4 chance |

no he's not.
nash is over rated and will crash and burn. staal is the better player. they're both canadian, but if I have to choose one it's not rick i can't get a hat trick and my name's not steve nash. rangers will send him to the minors to play with redden before all is said and done. |

These rumours keep popping up because we dont know if reimer will bounce back. If we get bernier, we have bernier, reimer, scrivens all fighting for the number one job along with backup or they can even share the load of games. With Luu on the other hand, i dont think were ready for him but he could be a huge help. Really doesnt matter to me which route burke takes for goalie, he will pick one of bernier or Luu at the end of this all. |

he makes the leafs a playoff team. it's not rocket science dude. his best seasons were in a defensive system. carlye ain't necessarily putting the 80's oilers edition on the ice. he's got a bunch of plumbers to work with and they'll trap you all over the ice. it's a match made in heaven.
you'll thank us while you're in your luongo underoos eating cheetos with one tube sock every saturday when the leafs are on hnic (every saturday we have to watch that crap so i may as well watch a goalie i like for once). |

Luongo will fetch a return of a fringe 2nd liner, a 3rd pairing Dman, and a 3rd round pick.

I agree with the Luongo state, ent. I'd 100% take the guy in a heart beat...but to give up Reilly, gardener and a first for a guy who has stated he'd like a move if it "helps the team" I don't think it's reasonable to think you'll get more than Nash...and I'd argue you will get less because of contract and the age of the player.
Ps stop peeking in my windows when I'm watching hnic |

I have no great fondness for Vancouver but the Sedins>Nash, soft or not. They instantly make a team way better than "I make 7.8 million a year but have only topped 70 pts once" Rick Nash. |

Nash isn't that good. He's not a franchise player like many think. |
