id like the combo of Reimer/Bernier

I think between the two of them 1 will pan out and thats what we need, a young goalie to become his own through the system, even if we trade for a young one (like bernier).

- big_dion

Like I said I don't have a problem having 2 Reimers, but the season will be about which one will pan out and be a #1 right, not about "Now that we have our #1 were a lock for the playoffs"

Reimer
NHL GP71 W34 L24 OT9 MIN.3959 GA187 SA2108 GAA2.83 .911% SO6
AHL GP44 W24 L15 OT3 MIN.2561 GA104 SA1304 GAA2.44 .920% SO4

Bernier
NHL GP48 W20 L17 OT5 MIN.2691 GA112 SA1247 GAA2.50 .910% SO5
AHL GP115 W54 L46 OT11 MIN.6709 GA245 SA3351 GAA2.19 .927% SO14

For my own sake I'm not going to include OT in my %'s but just looking at these numbers we I see Reimer has won 58.6% of his NHL games and 61.5% AHL games with .911% and .920% sav %. Bernier 54% NHL 54% AHL with .910% and .927% sav%

Compared beside each other they are nearly identical with Reimer having a slightly better record. Reimers NHL sample is larger than Bernier's and Bernier's AHL sample is larger than Reimer's.

If we trade for Bernier, I am not going to be upset, but I am not expecting a #1 NHL starting goalie who can steal us games. I'm expecting the Leafs having 2 Reimers so that if 1 doesn't pan out (Pogge), then the other one will (Rask)

Bernier's NHL GAA is a third of a goal better. that's a pretty big difference IMO.

No Bernier, No Luongo.......ride out the CBA mess, let the season go forward with no more changes and either make it or break it. If this means finishing 15th in the east, this is the year to do it. In all probability, the season will be shortened by a labour dispute. One year from now, the Connolly's an Lombardie's will be off the books and we'll be one year away from seeing Komiserek gone, as well.

As for a number 1 centre? Let the draft take care of that!

Problem is...youre selling some real assets to get Bernier, when you might already have similar talent in Reimer.
- Colin Dambrauskas

worst that can happen - reimer is #1 and bernier is #2 til we trade him.

or bernier and reimer are both capable #1's and we trade one of them for a bigger package.

OR worst case, they both suck and were SOL!

i read some pretty negative reviews but part of me thinks that the media is just trying to tear down what they built up after the last movie.

The samples are small like I said, and Reimers numbers during the concussion when he let in 6 goals a night were included in this sample, while I believe before that his GAA was much better.

lol no worries, was kidding. I feel the same way, essentially. Think its better for the Leafs to just get Luongo on the cheap than risk more assets for another unproven goalie....how many of these unproven guys will the Leafs risk before they give up?

...Does anyone remeber the last time they were real confident with the Leafs goalie choice!? (Reimers 32 game stint aside).

I can't get past the mediocre first two (except for Ledgers performance) Bale swallowing sandpaper before he puts on the cape to speak is beyond annoying to me.

Seeing how the Oilers desperately need to climb out of the basement, think they show any interest in Jbo?

Hes arguably the best remaining defender available....

- Colin Dambrauskas

Is he even available? I kinda doubt it.

And I seriously doubt Feaster would deal with the Oilers.

id say the team is better than it was any of the last 7 years.
- big_dion

Ok yes...I can agree with that. But that's like saying the 1988 Dodge Aries was better than the 1984 Dodge Aries. You know?

But if he spoke like Bruce Wayne everyone would know who he is....

Let's be realistic here!!

The Kings were garbage most of the regular season though. Not the same team that we say in the playoffs.

You make it sound like Luongo could be had for a cheaper price than Bernier. I don't think that would be the case at all.

Although I agree, they make good trading partners right now given their needs and their available players. But yeah, wont be happening between the two teams.

And yes, Bouwmeester is certainly available. Someone will offer a reasonable trade proposal and hell be moved...they have too many defenders, someone has to go and hes got the most value.

I'd say 2.6 is pretty similar to Berniers 2.5
