This Weber offer sheet has me kinda worried about next offseason with Lucic, Seguin, Marchand, Rask all RFA's........ - GSDIV
Leafs will send an offer sheet for Seguin....2 first and a 2nd. Kessel trade is the gift that keeps on giving. |

I find it funny that everyone is trying to say flyers fan are crying about this...
What is there to cry about anyway? It was a long shot that the offer sheet wasn't matched.
I'm just glad that there was something exciting to talk about for nearly a week.
And for the Toronto fan denying his team is in on every free agent. Stop living in denial Brian Burke tries to get everyone, but everyone has seen the disaster Brian Burke has put together in TO so no one goes there. - Efs5030
ummmmm many and by that the majority were saying nashville cant match due to finances, so your who long shot it wasnt going to be matched didnt seem true among fans
i give some flyers fans credit for calling out a guy who said they will be happy if its matched coz that means the preds would be bankrupt and would fail, and other fans said it was an bumhole thing to say and it would be bad for the nhl

True....but it still makes me giddy that the bigwig team finally didn't get the player they wanted. I'm tired of the Flyers and Rangers targeting and/or getting everyone that comes available. - Phenom
Are you kidding me? The Leafs have one of the largest hockey markets and can go after whoever they want. Not our fault your GM sucks!

It'll only hurt if Sid's brain gets mashed again. They can replace the defensive side of things. |

Are you talking about Burke? Cause he does suck, and the Leafs can't go after whomever they want because Burke is a dumb ass and doesn't do offer sheets or front loaded contracts. |

Actually we have THE largest hockey market.....but it doesn't make much difference.
Can and do are two totally different things. The Flyers and Rangers actively and aggressively pursue (and more often than not acquire) EVERYONE. Pisses me off. |

Even with Webers' contract and the recent contracts with SK74 and Wilson, the Preds are still barely under the floor with only Jonathan Blum to sign. Sounds like we've go plenty of cap space if they choose to go after any of the better names left out there.
kudos to nashville on signing weber.....though good luck landing anyone else significant. still do not see them as contenders in upcoming years. - blues fan 257

I'm happy Nashville matched what most people don't realize one of there owners who happens to only own 5 % is one of the richest sob's in Canada that might be why they decided to match even with the financial crunch of the contract look up W. Brett Wilson guy is worth like 2 billion |

In all seriousness, the fact the Preds will have to at least match ticket revenue sales from the previous year JUST to pay Weber cash money and use merchandise, concession and Maple Leaf money to pay the OTHER players and staff doesn't worry you? |

This is great news. Absolutely spectacular. Great job Nashville on not making the biggest mistake of your life and making the Eastern Conference just a little more miserable. |

That Toronto fan is me. I'm not living in denial, trust me. I'm not saying there isn't interest. Of course there is. A GM wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't interested in acquiring a player to improve his team. As for actually agressively pursuing each player that comes available, that's where I hold reservation. Burke is stubborn and unwilling to give out long front-loaded contracts, so as soon as he knows that's what the player wants, he backs off. The Flyers and Rangers go after everyone all the time, and they go after them hard. That's what I'm saying. - Phenom understood now. |

They wouldn't have matched it if the money wasn't there plain and simple yes it's a fan statement but if the people with the money down there said we can't match then he would flyer right now |

i can't wait for the flyers to offer sheet somebody with a 100 mil signing bonus, that is the logical next step, maybe even offer the player shares in the team. |
