They won the Presidents Trophy and lost to the eventual champ without Daniel, and with Luongo in goal. Schneider plays all series and Daniels healthy there might've been a different outcome. And just so were clear this whole dispute started when u took a shot at our integrity. Apart from Burrows, Lappi and Kesler I think were a fine team. And just cause we don't play goon hockey doesn't mean were not tough

You probably also change Vancouvers starting goalie in nhl 12 from Luongo to Schneider as well

Could be Ottawa or the Jets but I doubt it. I think it is just a rumour.

Just a rumor... well that's just brilliant.

So the goal each season is to win the Presidents Trophy?
And if queen had balls she'd be king...

Ya, and that Gelinas goal went in back in '04 and the Flames should have won the cup..............

The Canucks aren't tough....and they dive everywhere. Injuries happen, part of the game.

No Kesler dives and Burrows dives. No one else dives

It was figurative, as in we're good and you're very bad. At least the last few years anyways. I miss the days when cow town had a good team! Some great games over the years.

EASSSSSYYYYYYYY NOW....it's not like the Canucks have been a juggernaut forever...it wasn't THAT long ago we were slapping you around in game 7. In any case...it always fun when the 2 teams meet.

Burke has never said that he would never go the offer sheet route...
- BoBBeR56

your kidding me right, remember the summer of 07'?

Burke stated that he believes offer sheets to be a violation of the cba, just because he stated it in Anaheim, doesn't mean he's changed his mind in TO. strikes me as too prideful a person to change his ways

But I can guarantee you he wasn't around when they won it. Its been a longer time since toronto won a cup than Vancouver. Plus all their wins were in a 6 team league

I am not kidding at all...
Maybe you should re-read what you think you read...
He said that he doesn't believe in blindsiding GM's with offer sheets, and that is why he was mad at Lowe for offer sheeting Penner. It had nothing to do with the offer sheet in general, just the blindsiding...

Wasn't long ago when they were a good team. But when Flames fans start taking shots at the Canucks, our fans will give them a "friendly" reminder about how were good right now, and the Flames well aren't as good

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3fCsiBklEI 1:48 might be worth seeing from there forward.

**not saying he would extend an offer sheet.. there just seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about what he had said.

Canucks started in 1970
Leafs haven't won Cup since 1967
Not that far off...
Leafs have won 13 Cups in 96 years...
Vancouver have won zero in 42 years...

Should Montreal's total only count as 8? Red Wings as 4?

05-06 they won the division in a tough division = good team
06-07- playoffs = good team
07-08 - playoffs = good team
08-09 - best season since 05-06 = good team

Summer of 09 they add JayBo

3 years later, no playoffs, so not too long ago

Oh trust me I know, I'm in my mid 40's. I remember Calgary kickin our holes on a regular basis for many many years. I like the rivalry, is all I'm getting at. Right now the Nucks have a good team, in a couple of years we'll be back to normal though...so the time to chirp is now.

No they should count but talking trash about Presidents Trophys when your team hasn't made the playoffs in years isn't a great idea

I think the leafs have won 13, but there should be a little note beside those 13 cups, same for montreal and detroit and so on

What he said. I'm younger but I still shudder at Gelinas goal in 04. I remember those days
