The paterno comment was uncalled for, as far as the banned after 1 comment thing, that seems a little bit too over the top.

I think the difference would be that leaf fans seem to be a bit too emotional and quick to fire off an insult against someone else, or like the leaf fan above who was cursing at some one.

If you don't want to be banned don't insult people, keep it civil and you should be able to get a couple good natured ribbings in

Why would any team intentionally put together a mediocre product and spend as much money on it as MLSE does? If they were just trying to hit the cap floor every year then your argument would have a little bit of validity but in this case you have no idea what you're talking about. The Leafs have been abysmal since the lockout but it's not for lack of trying on the part of ownership. It just hasn't worked out so far. The whole "Leafs fans support mediocrity so that's all ownership will give them" argument is the one of the stupidest things fans of other teams say about the Leafs, and that's saying a lot. Why would they intentionally avoid playoff revenues every season?

I'll be perfectly honest, here. Around these parts, bloggers and refs are insulted to no end. I get PMs, or straight up comments poking fun at everything and anything. I had somebody insult my girlfriend, which is going way too far, IMO.

Until this place gets cleaned up from some of the obvious trolls, they'll need to be very strict.

Actually, we have a pretty decent future ahead of us. Just because there's no prospect who will turn into a top line center, doesn't mean its all doom and gloom.

Well unless we acquire a first line centre outside of this list of non-first line centres then I think it is doom and gloom for the forseable future. Every successful team has a legit first line centre, maybe not a franchise guy like a Crosby, Malkin or Toews but at least the #1C spot isn't a huge gaping hole for them (i.e. Boston with Bergeron/Krejcii). It is a big hole for us and until that changes I don't think we have a shot at the Cup or even being a threat for the Cup, we can make the playoffs without a legit #1C, sure, but that shouldn't be the ceiling of our goal.

Obviously there is still lots of time to get a #1C, maybe not for this year, but next year or the year after. If we tank again this year maybe we can draft him, if not then we'll have to rely on free agency and/or trades.
