I really think Burke/Carlyle are trying to build a true shut down 3rd line.
Something the leafs haven't really had since Berg, Zezel, Osborne.

Komarov = Berg
Mcclement = Zezel

Komarov hasn't even played an NHL game...we dont people think he will be anything other than a filler call up when the Leafs get a lot of injuries.

I wouldn' consider Kadri and Scrivens "prospects" anymore.
No real superstars..but some decent talent.

At 21 I don't see how anyone can be a bust. He's a PPG AHL'er, who if you pro-rated his NHL totals, he'd be a 30 pt guy in his first season. With improvement, Kadri should be a consistent 50 point guy.

And I absolutely dislike Kadri, so this isn't some sort of bias.

I'm optimistic his physical training with Gary Roberts over the summer gets him at NHL size without hampering his acceleration too much.

Burke should be fired. The Leafs have been in a rebuild for 11 years now and this is the best prospect group he can collect? What a joke...none of those guys are big difference makers that will make this team a big dog in the East. Burke needs to figure it out and start making some big splashes in free agency.

Yea. Toronto took a chance on two big guys int he first couple drafts. Barron Smith struggled from day one. The other kid is doing well in the NCAA, and might actually turn into something... time will tell.

Big lanky defenseman are hard to predict.

Boston didn't have any superstars when they won the Cup. Just great overall depth, good defensive systems and fantastic goaltending from Tim Thomas.

It's the goaltending part we really need in order to get to the next level. I am not convinced anyone we currently have can be anything more than average. For once I would like to see our goaltending stats be at least middle of the pack.

By my calculations if our team save percentage was at the league average last year we would have allowed 42 fewer goals and probably made the playoffs.

What a joke...none of those guys are big difference makers that will make this team a big dog in the East. Burke needs to figure it out and start making some big splashes in the FA pool.

Who cares about whether they pan out or not, I'm not referring to that. I just dont feel they are prospects anymore. They've both had some time with the big clubs, they're more like depth players now....not prospects....thats all I'm saying.
