I just think if you have two prospects with basically the same up side potential (3rd line pest) then the one who has developed closer to being NHL ready is the better prospect.
The same would definitely apply for Matt Finn/ Koribean Holzer. - B-Wforever
You're seriously overrating both Holzer and Komarov.

So you like Komorov just because it makes all players shooting for the 4th line role work harder? or...
I think he's going to be more trouble than help. Like a Avery or Carcillo with less talent. |

Either way should have let him walk. There is just no spot for him that a younger/ better player could fill just as well. - wolfos412
I really think Burke/Carlyle are trying to build a true shut down 3rd line.
Something the leafs haven't really had since Berg, Zezel, Osborne.
Komarov = Berg
Mcclement = Zezel
Kulemin = Osborne

Are you saying Holzer doesn't have an upside potential equal to "2nd pairing two way dman"?
And Komarov equal to "Third Line Shift Disturber "? |

No I think he helps because he's actually a player worth having on the fourth line. I'm sick of watching the Leafs be a bunch of pansies with no ounce of crazy in them. Komarov gives them that. If they can get a Carcillo/Avery type out of him, who's a pest.... that works for me.

I'm surprised you guys were able to count to 10. Couple fillers in there. At what point does Kadri go from being a prospect to a bust? I'm sure he's already there, but that's just me. |

Yes.
Komarov's upside is a 4th liner. Komarov's upside is a 6-7 hard-nosed defensive defender. |

Cody Hodgson's first full season was this year. Kadri was drafted one year after Cody....

so you are saying I have to wait another year to call him a bust?
edit: Cody missed a few years because of injury... Kadri didn't...so that changes things. |

Thank you for your constructive criticism, it's refreshing having someone not troll but put in an honest effort to talk hockey and not spew gabage out about another team than their own. |

Burke has talked at length about top 6 vs bottom 6.
The idea floating around that the leafs 3rd line will be a poor mans top 6 full of offensive guys like Connolly, Lombardi etc won't happen. that was the Wilson era.

At 21 I don't see how anyone can be a bust. He's a PPG AHL'er, who if you pro-rated his NHL totals, he'd be a 30 pt guy in his first season. With improvement, Kadri should be a consistent 50 point guy.
And I absolutely dislike Kadri, so this isn't some sort of bias. |

I should never write blogs about the Leafs. Some people can't discuss hockey without turning it into a poop show.... |

so the guys in the same draft class as Zack Kassian, has been more productive over his 2 years of pro hockey yet Kadri is the bust? |
