Who's better Rielly or Reinhart???
- jimmc7722

Different players. I think Rielly has a higher ceiling, and Reinhart is a bit more safe because of the size and defensive abilities.

Who's a 4th liner at best?

And 80 pts in the OHL does not equal 80 pts in the NHL. He's a great OHL'er. Does that mean his game will translate to the NHL? No. And that's what scouting is about. Figuring out how a game translates to the pro game.

- Brian Huddle

Biggs. he will be a 4th liner at best IMO.

look at Frattin and Kulemin, those guys are 3rd liners. (almost 2nd liners, or potential)

Mike Brown - thats a 4th liner, he has more biggs in his game than both Kulemin/Frattin from what ive seen.

and why are you always so defensive in your responses to me? what the hell is No. And that's what scouting is about. Figuring out how a game translates to the pro game? I am not 12 years old and i understand how scouting works. whats the deal here? It was a miracle you actually responded to one of my questions, since u have been ignoring most of my comments and questions all summer...

I hope Rielly goes back. He needs to, after missing most of the year. It'll do him good to light up the Dub, play for Canada at the WJC's and then come to camp next year hungry for a job.

And yea, Kyle's awesome. We talk a lot. Solid dude, whom I respect a lot.

- Brian Huddle

I agree...plus Leafs have a bunch of d-men this season, and more fighting for spots (Blacker, Holzer, etc.)
Yah, I'm talking to him now thru BBM, he said he's been chatting with Del Zotto this morning, and said MDZ doesn't have a contract yet, and might not get one done before camp.
And BTW he says the same about you...said you are by far the best writer on here...

My wedding situation was odd to me. My wife is awesome, attractive, a hard worker and has a good job, but her family and I mean close and extended are 100% either on worksfare or some sort a disability. I have not met 1 single person from her side that has had a job before. None of them have all there teeth or speak properly. (Ex. Wall-mark - Walmart, Zinc - Sink, Fournteen - fourteen etc..) anyway so My Wife and I saved and paid for our own wedding as my own parents had just paid for my sisters and didn't anticipate paying for mine. Anyway, It was a very creepy wedding having all these stereotypes on 1 side then my family on the other obviously scared lol I was just glad to get the hell out of there.

Watched a lot of him though. Points came, yes.... but his game is really based on the PP and being opportunistic, sneaking in to open slots and scoring/making plays in tight. I have a feeling his game won't translate to the NHL.

Just a personal opinion. Numbers aren't everything to me.

- Brian Huddle

I was more impressed with his preseason camp last year than anything he accomplished in juniors this past season. He struck me as a kid who wasn't happy in Erie, and just tried to do too much at times. But if he brings the same enthusiasm to camp this year he did last year, I have every confidence he'll impress the Leafs brass. Though, even if he impresses, he'll be going to the AHL.

It's that ability to sneak into scoring spots that also impresses me. You can't teach that. That's natural, and it's an ability that I think some scouts have the hardest time putting their finger on. For every Jordan Eberle, there's a guy who has this ability like jeremy williams, but doesn't have the other attributes coaching staffs are looking for.

Have you even seen Biggs play? Come on.

I'm defensive. Dude, you're the one calling me out for not putting your favorite prospect in a ranking based on my own personal opinions and viewings.

While i agree Huds is the best writer on here (Yost is pretty good too) some of the competition is....shall we say....rather uncompetitive. No offense Brian.

Are you sure you are not thinking of the Rookie camp last year, him and Nicholls clicked and he was one of the best players, at the pro camp he was barely noticeable.

Good ol' BBM. haha. That's how I chat him up. Solid dude.

Yea, the Leafs have some guys who could use the NHL spot for Rielly to get some experience before he makes the jump. Makes sense for asset management and for Morgan's future as well.

Indeed. He's got some skill, I just worry about his progression. He's stagnated a bit over the past little while, and even in London where he started hot, he eventually slid down the lineup and got forced into a secondary role and wasn't the same. I'd love to be proven wrong on him, but I worry about opportunity, and the fact that I think he'll essentially have to be a PP forward to really do much damage. I don't think he has the ability to play all 200 feet effectively.

He's a bit of a wait and see now. He could light it up with the Marlies and force the issue.[/img]

pro camp he didn't really get a real look though - they knew he was going back to Jr and had other things to look at seriously. I can see McKegg having a big year with the Marlies.

I edited the last post, and I think you just brought up the concerning part about Mckegg...we saw this before in jeremy williams. Correct?

That is what I'm saying, he was not noticeable at pro camp which why I asked him if he was mistaken and it was the rookie camp.

yeah i have seen him play, hes a machine, but hes not exactly a scoring machine. a good fit for a 4th liner in the NHL from my eyes, but hey, if he makes 3rd line id be thrilled.

and i didnt call you out, i said im suprised you didnt put Mckegg in there. you replied and said you thought he regressed because he didnt play in the AHL...all i said was he was on the worst OHL team, can you blame him, and that once he was traded he did quite well. Not to mention his 2 goals in the leafs blue vs white.

huge difference in calling someone out and questioning why a certain player isnt a top 10 for you. il be sure not to ask questions anymore, god forbid someone didnt share the same top 10 as you.
