Me too. If he does go back to Phoenix, or to another team besides the Canucks, I wouldn't mind seeing Gillis send a big offer sheet, similarly structured to the Weber deal, to Benn.

Benn is the type of top-end talent that the Canucks prospect pool is missing. He could take over after the Sedins retire and guys like Kassian, Jensen, Schroeder, and Gaunce would be great complimentary players—as I don't think more than 1 or 2 of those guys at best will be 1st liners.

Edit: I guess if Doan takes too long, and that is who Gillis is waiting on, that would eliminate the possibility of an offer sheet to Benn.

Too many ultimatums. This is what, line #4 drawn in the sand? I honestly don't understand the issue of moving your family to a nice new location. I've lived in a few places in my life and it's only helped me grow and each was a positive experience. The way this guy goes on about Phoenix you'd swear it was the jewel of the world.

To be honest I couldn't care less, I rarely, if ever, read the main blog, so Ek is not the draw for me. Ian is doing a good job, keeping things fresh, he has some good ideas. For those pining for Tessier, note it's been almost a week since his last blog, which attracted 40 something posts... I read JJ and Yost regularly, others occasionally.

If there were better bloggers on YYRR, I would check it out I guess but the rumours are irrelevant...

Yup

For as much as has been written about Doan's class, loyalty, and the fact that he's such a stand-up guy, he does come across as pretty flaky in making a decision or pretending to make a decision. "It'll happen when it happens" is all he needs to say.

I have a good feeling about Doan. He co-owns the Kamlopps Blazers. His wifes from there. He's harsh Christian like Booth and Hamhuis(I'm sure that doesn't matter but still) contending team, close to home, fills a need and could retire here. If it's not about money and the Phoenix situation isn't resolved I'd say we have a really good shot.

I thought Nashville would match, they just can't afford not to, not if they want their franchise to fail. Losing both Weber and Suter for nothing or for what NYR gave up for Nash would completely turn the Preds loyal and passionate fanbase against them, not to mention losing millions in corporate sponsorship which might make the ownership group even more tenous than it already is.
