Nah you're just jealous that our rebuild was done in an off-season and you're on what... year 5?
But humour me, what exactly went right for us? - skelly96
Spezza and Michalek stayed healthy which in itself is shocking, they got a huge season out of Alfredsson who should be too old to be putting up huge seasons, Gonchar and Kuba had a bounce back year, they got decent goaltending out of historically inconsistent goalies. You know you had a good season when Colin (frank)ing Greening almost scores 20. Essentially they're the same team that everyone predicted to finish last in the conference with the addition of Kyle Turris. What didn't go right for them?
By the way, it's ok if not everyone likes your team.

*sigh*
The Player X stayed healthy argument. lmao
1. Spezza dedicated himself to the gym more than ever before and stayed healthy. Shocker right?
2. Michalek has had 2 bad years (which he played 66 gmaes in each. Which still isnt bad) for injuries out of 6. He ended up playing as many games as his career average. So, try harder I guess?
3. Since when is Anderson horribly inconsistent? The guy has been the complete opposite of that the last few years. When he came over at the deadline he went like 11-4 down the stretch and literally stole games for us. The guy carried a worse team than ours to the playoffs a couple years ago. He's not an elite starter but he's still very good.
4. Don't hate on Greening. Binghamton won the Calder Cup the year before and lots of those players contributed this year. Is that 'things going right'? No, it's good drafting and good development. It's not fluke
I could go on but I know you're just grasping at straws anyways

Ottawa isn't making the playoffs next season (provided there is one), that's my opinion. If they do then you can come back and female dog at me all you want next spring.
wow these blogs are horrible.
I know theres nothing going on but holy sh*t this is mind numbing.
Garth has derailed and this poor guy with a generalized question and a poll every other day.
I hope all this waiting is worth it.....for everyone.
We have added toughness in Scott and Ott. Everyone expects the Foligno-Ennis-Stafford line to pick up where they left off last year but they are 2 young players who still may have growing pains to go through and Stafford goes M.I.A. for stretches so that line is not a given. We are young with to many question marks. Grigorenko will have to make an impact in his first year. Hodgson has to assume the nbr 1 center role. If there aren't any more additions and we have less man games lost then last year I see us making the playoffs in one of the lower 3 spots.

if buffalo plays team hockey like it did at the 2nd half of last season, we have a great chance of wining the NE. even when boston won the cup i have never been impressed with that team. they did open up last season but predictably went back to the defensive shell in the playoffs.
what's Buffalo's lineup going to look like? From what I can tell.. Ott, Adam, Hodgson, Hecht, McCormick are the centers. Grigorenko? Girgensons? Who gets the top line C? - MartysBetter88
What???? YIKES!
try
Hodgson
Ennis
Girgensons
Grigorenko
McCormick

Ott will take FO's but I bet he plays as LW. - Sabretooter
They still need a number one guy ennis is the only proven one they don't have a good chance at the division title with those centers this year at least
