actually ....i started thinking about this trade after watching the jackets gm post game press conference:

1) The Jackets have 3 first round picks next year: This next years draft is supposed to be VERY good.

2) Adding Erixon will add to there promising D core in Johnson, Ryan Murray (there first round pick), Wisiewski is actually not bad at all. A lot of people are saying that Erixon is the best piece of the deal

3) At center they have Foligno, Bassard, Dubi, anismov (dubi can play wing) so that crop of centers isnt terrible by any means. No studs like Nash or Crosby but good like the Florida Panthers.

So i dont think now the trade was that " god awful" and the future looks ok for the jackets.

Yeah, they are stacked with "b" quality players. I dont know what thier goaltending situation is but if they can round that out they can be a tough team to play.

Yep, and that's a good thing.

What I worry about is spending for the sake of it. It's great that the cap is now our worry. It sucks that we're shelling out $4m+ for average wingers with regularity and burning cap space on them.

i think ya gotta look at that as an attempt to jumpstart the process...last summer showed the hockey world that money is no longer an issue...which should be construed as just one step...

if ya look below the surface, they're really focused upon their scouting department and player development

Philly traded the wrong goalie.

Bobo is gonna be just fine for them.

Only the 89 Flames have won a cup without a previous cup winner on it in the last 40 or so years.

I agree that Garth is a little unrealistic on this one, but we aren't out of it on Ryan. We just have to give some good players to get Bobby Ryan, which in my opinion would be a good move. I also think the Ryan would love to play in Buffalo because of the young group of players he will play with here - Ennis, Hodgson, Myers.

They will be looking for a RW -Stafford
We can give up a good solid NHL Dman -Sekera or Leopold
Include an up-and-coming Center - Adam
- That should be enough.. if not we could add prospects, picks, or another D.

Top 2 lines would be baller for the Sabrahs

Vanek - Hodgson - Pominville
Ott - Ennis - Ryan

Where is the video of you eating your laptop

Sorry folks, I don't see the Nashville Predators ponying up a $25+ million signing bonus on a 14 year, $110 million contract to Shea Weber. If it happens, I'll eat my laptop.
