We don't get Ryan if Ennis + doesn't go the other way, sicks but...........
- SABRES 89

Unless they think BOTH Grigorenko and Girgensons are ready...
And I don't think they do...
It's really hard for me to see them moving Ennis

I know I think we should do it anyways...
But it puts us in a really tough spot down the middle this year

the man wants to win...and is willing to spend no question....but i was referring more to the price of the trade not the contract.....Pegula still wants his team to be built well and make smart deals....and i think Getzlaf might cost to much in talent out
- aschwach

idk, swatch...even after landing hodgson, the final 20 games for ennis and the center-laden draft, they still mentioned looking for more at the position

in a ryan scenario, i agree...in a getzlaf (or another #1, not named stastny) scenario it works

totally agree.....and i think they will...i just think it will be a smaller deal to bring in a proven 2nd/3rd line type whom we haven't thought of

I doubt they'd let Dubinsky go after all the backlash theyre getting from people that the Rags fleeced them
- joevthree

I like the trade for Columbus
Anisimov & Dubinsky should both score 20goals
Erixon & whoever they get with the 1st are good prospects

i'd agree with you if it was 2010...but i'm pretty sure pegula doesn't think that way...

and that's a good thing

i still have a feeling they have someone in mind we haven't thought of.....maybe from a team that needs D....

W lubey wanting out of his deal to the Isles....maybe we can convince Garth to take Sekera for a guy like Frans Nielsen

- aschwach

I could see some thing like that happen

My worry is in any big deal Ennis probably has to go the other way....and despite the injuries last season when he got healthy and found some chemistry he started to really show what he can do...i'd hate to give up on that unless..............

and that would be a nice deal....no its not the block buster or the big time money player we all want but that guy will help us and still fills a need

Kind of...

Seems to me they think pretty highly of Ennis
How much more productive will Getzlaf, Stastny, etc actually be?
I could see Ennis get more points then both of them this year
And don't forget their salaries will come into play too
Ennis is going to make less than half of those guys over the next 4years or so

i hear ya...i'm not totally attatched to either ennis or hodgson, but with them being strong on the wing and weak down the middle, i'd rather either of them be traded for a center, like getzlaf...

nothin' against bobby ryan

they're unproven, though...and very young...hodgson and ennis are both 22...grigorenko and girgensons are teenagers...

a vet, especially one in his prime would allow things to fall into place near-term and allow for long-term development

i think leo could fetch a hefty return at the deadline if they chose to move him...

and i kinda like the guy...he was their most consistent center last season

IMO if we weren't so thin at center I think Darcy would move Ennis

just a stab in the dark

maybe pegula should let it be known (in a non-tampering fashion) that the sabres are willing to do a very lucrative, front-loaded, bonus-laden contract extension if he were to be traded to the team...

a contract that cannot be nullified by the new collective bargaining agreement

Just can never tell with Darcy but he just doesn't seem to have the "stones" as other GM's to put this team over the top.

i agree opinion seems to be high on Sekera around the league after his fine showing in the world championships....move him now before he gets on the ice and that myth gets busted

at the deadline Leopold can get you at least a 2nd or a nice prospect....hell darcy got a 1st for goose and dmen have been getting a premium so who knows

I love the Philly fans coming in and lecturing us about what we need to do to be a contender.

How the f would you know?
