If we go with the hypothetical that Gionta would be moved to Jersey, what would the return be?

seriously if I was 23 and I had millions and the summer off, I'd be drunk from morning to night.

it'd make headlines when I'm not.

30-something $5-million players coming off 8-goal seasons don't bring much in return.

All 3 salary cap obstacles will start the season with the habs, they won't buy any of them out unless the new cba allows them to do so with no strings attached.
And what is highly unlikely is being able to trade any of them before the start of the season.

PK will sign a new deal around 4 mil per for 3-5 years

And the team you see know is the team that will start the season +/- a camp suprise or two.

I think the issue is that his production slipped a little last year. That combines with the pics are not a good thing.

They don't even get the whole summer off as they will have to start training for camp next month. So the party time is even more condensed and saturated.

Meh, if he can't even fetch more than Cammalleri, keep him.

Don't trade him when his value is at the lowest. I'd think the new management would know that.

I would be suprised if they do before the season starts.

They still see him as an asset, no matter what level of denial it is.

And they will see if he can turn it around in the first few months, and maybe they can dump him at the deadline for 6th rounder if he plays halfways decent

It would depend on his rehab but he is not so far removed from 28 and 29 goal seasons. His value on the market would be higher than Bourque's.

you really think the addition of one 20-goal scorer will make the difference between playoffs and no playoffs?
- DoubleDown

I'm saying that unless we add a top 6 forward there's no way we're getting in the playoffs. I'm not saying that if we do that we're sure to get in. Now stop making me say things I've never said, or I'll call you Don Cherry from now on.
