He was the best offensive guy left, money is high but who cares, they had the cap space, term is low risk with 1 year, good deal for Carolina IMO, good gamble. |

arguing the yield is one thing, in terms of how much he'll help. but even if he only scores 15 goals... so what? he's cut loose at the end of the year. zero risk. not to mention he's going to be playing with one of the Staals. and while his numbers took a dive in Washington the past 2 years, so did Backstrom and Ovechkin's. |
