I have a real problem with the NHL rebuilding process where teams, the latest being Edmonton and Phoenix, can absolutely suck for years on end, get a top five pick and live off of the revenue sharing structure of the NHL. Then they cry when teams like the Flyers, Boston,and Rangers (and possibly the Pens in the future) who have spent years building a fan base and profitable business take advantage of what they have created to get better. Does the league have to regulate so much so that every team is mediocre? That is absurd. The Pens, Sabres, Sens all used that system in the past and it is a terrible system. I know Nashville has worked hard but it still is just off life support. If they can't make it now, they won't make it.

I have been away for the past 10 days or so and hearing that Weber news as a Flyers fan was very exiting. As a hockey fan, I know it stinks for Nashville, but this would not happen to the Rangers, Flyers, Pens, etc. I know the NHL promotes Nashville and its GM, but not getting either Suter or Weber (or both) locked up long ago was a terrible decision and if they could not do so, maybe the Nashville GM is not the hockey genius as he is portrayed on NHL Home Ice and this site. Also, maybe they want to leave Nashville.

That's kinda stupid because the ducks wanna 2nd line center and if there gonna move Breire you might as well include him in the Ryan deal. I'd cum my pants if homer got Weber for just the 4 first rounders and traded Breire and mez to the ducks for Ryan and keep all our wingers n let Schenn play center but there not trading Breire,if they do trade a winger it should be Simmonds because Read and Vorecek's has more upside. I know the they picked up Allen and Sourey but Sourey's contract is only a year but Mez is way better then both of them. It's sucks we can't throw Kimo in there instead of mez because if we trade'em we half to pick up a puck mover d-man next year when Kimo's gone and at this point he's old and being honest as much as I love him here it would be best for the flyers to put Mez/Weber, Couburn/Schenn or Grossmann and Guss/Grossmann or Schenn. Btw I think there gonna get weber and Ryan and keep Vorecek, our lines would be Schenn G Ryan,Hartnell Breire Vorecek,Fed Couts Read/Simmonds,Wellwood Talbot Rinaldo

Seriously, after all the great work that the Preds' organization has done, it has 3 or 4 playoff appearances to speak of, only two of which they went to the second round before being routed? It just is not working down there, particularly if they put the team in this position, regardless of whether they match or not. This is not what solid management does. The focus should not be on the Flyers being nasty and mean, but on the Nashville organization for letting this happen.
