I hope the islanders go to Brooklyn . I miss hating islander fans I just feel sorry for them the last few years. I miss the hatred between us fans even islander fans shrug and go yea we suck these days

Same s*** different day. The same teams are "allegedly" in on certain players. It's like you pick names out of a (frank)ing hat, but only 6 teams are in the hat. You say the same teams like the Rangers, Flyers, Sharks, etc. bc they're the only ones bold enough (or desperate) to make those moves, so it's easy to tie them to certain "rumors".

Yeah, it's possible he screwed up the Weber situation - probably should have traded him if they can't match. But up until now, he's done an amazing job considering the limitations there.

Suter wasn't really his fault, he seriously considered re-signing.

Well Weber's agent said he would have signed with Nashville if Suter stayed.

As a huge Minnesota wild fan I also don't see the wild trading backstrom but what most people know is the wild not only have harding, but also have top young goalies like gustavson and hackett who will be the starters someday anyways. The only way the wild make the trade is if its for nash( that being said obviously nash would have waive his no-trade clause which before the parise sutter signings I would have said no way, but now? The thought of playing with parise and koivu may make him at least think about) and I would be very upset to see backstrom go especially if its not for an instant team improvement the wild have to much young talent. I wouldn't doubt heatley thought. Heatley, backstrom and a prospect for nash if he would accept.

Even with Suter and Parise, I don't think Nash is interested in going to anyone but a perennial contender. On top of that, not sure the Wild want to strap themselves with yet another long term contract with a +7 million cap hit. Besides, I think it would be pretty ballsy of the Wild org to personally ask Heatley to reach out to Suter, convince him to come to Mn and then after he's signed trade him. Not saying it can't happen, but I think the likelyhood of it is remote at best, and he's only got one more season after next on his current deal. So its not like the Wild are handcuffed by his contract.

Agreed, i don't think theirs a chance either. I was thinking more that the wild could get more in return packaging heatley if they do decide to trade him , which if they do probably wont be this summer unless they get an offer to good to resist. Backstrom will be gone it's just a matter of time probably not for a season or 2, but with harding and all the good young goalies theres no need to be paying Backstrom 6million a year!
