Yep, a guy with a rep as a goofy guy, who has record of underachieving in the playoffs. That will work well.

Nashville is matching the offersheet because if not Rag, Leafs, Pens, and Hab fans will revolt. #confirmed

It very well could be that whether Nashville matches, or doesn't match and makes a deal. Could very well depend on the deal that they can get. That could be very well be what's holding up a resolution.
From the Flyers perspective, it will be about how bad do they want Weber. They obviously couldn't come to a compromise before in talks. So we'll see if the Flyers are willing to meet Nashville's price in a deal.
Right now it's about who blinks first. Nashville gains leverage back if they are serious about matching. The Flyers will have to make a judgement call on how serious Nashville is about matching.
It really is a head to head Poker match right now.

I agree with about 90% of what you say. But, Poile and Holmgren are shrewd guys. Poile knows how badly Holmgren wants Weber. My guess, even Poile knows what a great match Weber would be on the Flyers blue line. Holmgren knows what Poile needs to get for a good start on a rebuild. He knows what he would want. A deal gets done when two honest brokers deal fairly with each other. I believe the deal gets done and both sides are happy with the outcome.

If that was true, a trade would have already been made. The Offer Sheet was sent because an honest deal couldn't be brokered between the two parties, and reached a compromise where both sides are happy with the outcome. So who is going to cater to the other side and bite the bullet? Who is going to win out? Are the Flyers going to be willing to pay more then the want to? If they're willing to do so and meet Poile's price. Why didn't they do so before sending the Offer Sheet?
Or is Poile going to give in and take less then he wants in return for Weber?
Something has to break here, if a deal is going to be made. One side or the other has to give in.

Just listened to Sam Charchidi on WIP...He says that Flyers would call the preds bluff if they asked for Schenn or Coots and the fact that the two teams only talking once is a good sign for flyers because they really have no reason to talk at all and the fact that Poile might negotiate leads him to believe flyers are in good shape...that being said he put the percentages of Weber coming here at 53-47 .....Thing to take from this Schenn is going nowhere

Be patient. It is going to be a good deal for everyone. I thought that the day I saw the JVR trade for Schenn that something so much bigger was coming. Schenn is a good young Dman but not a great fit for the Flyers. The Flyers need a Dman that can handle the puck and play 25 minutes, that is not Schenn.

Luke Schenn is a very good fit for the Flyers. And wasn't brought in as a puck mover. Although Schenn is a decent puck mover and secondary point producer from the back end, for a physical stay at home defenseman.

I agree. We have good to great defenders but none that are as physical as schenn. I thought vs nj they spent too much time chasing the puck rather than taking the body off the puck. Can't wait to see schenn play in o&b.
