I live very close to two teams that made the playoffs Florida and Ottawa. My interest in this deal is I am a great fan of Holmgren. I think the deal is pretty well settled. Poile and Holgren know what it has to be. It will be a good hockey deal for both sides.

Don't give in to those (frank)ers, make them match and if they do so be it. I know a lot of people would be upset. Man this is a roller coaster ride.

I'm open to a trade, so long as it's fair price for the Flyers. Just want it over more than anything. All the Insiderrs and other stuff is getting thick.

Sports reporters are on the low end of the economic scale. They have no idea how simple it is for Wilson or just about any owner to bridge $13m forward in their operating cycle. The problem for Nashville is more the issue of needing an $8m Dman during a period of rebuild, that is why I think Poile wants to do the deal.

Homer is the man. To even offer this sheet (that is creative) takes some stones. He really has Nashville by the nuts, either way there going to pay the piper.

I'd be most happy if the situation ends up with a guy from BC joining the Flyers.

It's definitely a tactic. And one that won't work. And Nashville absolutely will bluff, if they're not going to match. It's the best chance they have of getting the deal they want. If they weren't going to match, and weren't going to bluff. The deal would of been made already.
I agree that Nashville is in a stronger position to broker a deal if they are willing to match. But that can be countered by the Flyers if they are willing to walk away without Weber.

I agree entirely with the second part of your statement. The Nashville owners will look at their cap and budget numbers and they will see that retaining Weber involves a minor bridging of funds from operating years. The financial end of the problem is not complex. They will authorize matching because they know it will get them a better trade result. But, they will also know that if they don't get the deal they want they hold the asset. I believe Nashville wants to do the deal as much as Holgren does. But it has to be a good hockey deal. I am certain they have 80% of the deal already fleshed out.

It very well could be that whether Nashville matches, or doesn't match and makes a deal. Could very well depend on the deal that they can get. That could be very well be what's holding up a resolution.
From the Flyers perspective, it will be about how bad do they want Weber. They obviously couldn't come to a compromise before in talks. So we'll see if the Flyers are willing to meet Nashville's price in a deal.
Right now it's about who blinks first. Nashville gains leverage back if they are serious about matching. The Flyers will have to make a judgement call on how serious Nashville is about matching.
It really is a head to head Poker match right now.
