because of the potential leverage gained by the offer sheet.. or just in general, in terms of player value?
would you make that trade if it was under normal circumstances (no offer sheet out there)? - Crimsoninja
I think potential is really the key word here. And that leverage can be feigned, if that is the correct word, by how each GM plays it.
Under normal circumstances, that's a very good deal for the Flyers. And one which I would definitely make. However under these circumstances, I would not. However I realize that not doing so could cost them Weber. |

ok gotcha
and i agree
the amount of bluffing - or even perceived bluffing haha - is crazy right now. i dont envy either of these GMs at the moment. must be intense. |

Well maybe he would but as a total last resort. I hope he can play the rest of the hand he dealt and minimize the trade back. Give something fair-ish that puts a band aid on the wounds of the fans (which will need stitches and staples) and marginally mollifies the league so that we can get out of dodge with our prize in hand. - FlyersFirst
I'm with you on that. But as in Poker, you can't be afraid to lose if your going to bluff.

DO you think a decision wasn't made today because it was Sunday or is that irrelevant? |

You are not asking me, but I would in a circumstance without our current OS leverage (just not cooter or g). Now, I think coburn and the schenns should be off the table. I wish that jake was too, but everyone here has him packed for the music city. |

Absolutely. Who is going to flinch first. That's what it'll come down to if a trade is made. I'd sure like to know what the best offer Holmgren gave them was. But there hasn't been any leaks on that as far as I know.

it is an unwritten rule among NHL GMs to keep holy the Sabbath, Joe |

I don't think the day matters. If Nashville's intent is to make a trade. I can see that going the distance.

Poile sounds like "mohel", so I figure he is Jewish. Their holy day is Saturday, so I'm guessing something could go down tonight. |
