Nobody is in the driver seat of any franchise when they own 12% of it or a minority stake that doesn't get to make any final decisions. - Flyers1218
The other shares are evenly split between 5 or 6 partners. The disparity isn't that great. |

Somebody said it was like 3 days before Christmas. I agree with the anticipation part. The difference for me, however, is that I knew I was gonna get paid on December 25th. Now, I have no idea what next week will bring but will be really disappointed if we can't keep Shea. - 2731color

To be fair, there's no proof to say Weber wants out and would be disgruntled if Nashville matched. I do believe there's reason to believe its a risk Nashville needs to consider. - Baxter27
Yeah there is...Shea is letting his agents speak for him..again agents don't open there mouths with opinions about there client unless the client has given them there ok in doing so.. |

A lot has to do with your take on Weber. I don't see it as the end of the world if they don't get Weber. The Flyers will continue to try an upgrade this team and take the necessary steps to get closer to the goal, which is winning a cup. |

If they don't get Weber, at least Doan will be signed. So all won't be lost. |

And that is why you are writing on hockeybuzz MJL. I think you forget sometimes that you have ZERO affiliations to the league or it's team or it's players. But hey, there is nothing like having disgruntled players on a team who want out. You know everything. - Flyers1218
I'm quite aware of who or what I'm affiliated with!
His motivation for signing the OS is to one, get a long term, front loaded contract, and to have a chance at winning the Cup. If Nashville matches, Weber won't be a disgruntled player. |

I agree, but I at least see a trade with Mezy and Voracek going to Nash. At that point they may throw in MAB or Gus, As Wednesday approaches everyone will be on high watch. I think they may wait out that long to match or even wait for the best trade. End of the day Homer has the balls to make this team better and has shown that Schenn or Couturier are untouchables. He is a GM more teams wished they had. BEUM |

Yes and with what Webers agent said in Interview should give Nashville reason to consider the risk of matching and having a disgruntled player. But until his agent comes out with a firm statement that Weber does not want to be in Nashville there is no absolute proof to support that argument. |

Obviously, I didn't say Flyers fans weren't involved emotionally. I just pointed out that you can't take Leafs and Habs fans seriously as they clearly don't want Weber to go to the Flyers.
And I didn't ask you if you saw anything realistic or not. Worry about yourself. - Flyers1218
Again, it's a two way street. So you then can't take Flyers fans seriously because they want Weber to go to the Flyers?

Well in my lifetime 6 straight losing trips to the Stanley Cup Finals, countless players careers ended due to injury, including Lindros, Primeau, Kerr, Pronger, the Pelle tragedy, it goes on and on. |

True or Doan may of said, "Hey if you guys get Weber, I may seriously think about signing a deal with you guys." In the end tho Wednesday cant come soon enough. |

Homer tried to make a trade with Nashville and couldnt agree. I don't see him upgrading his trade offer. Nashville already got his best offer and this is why he went to the offer sheet. Match and see if you can handle that contract, dont match and take our 4 1st rounders, or accept a reasonable trade that we already offered. |

I think that is the place for serious debate. If the Flyers do not get Weber they have some serious deficiencies in their own end, in goal and on the power play. The idea that this is just another trade is too simplistic. Weber puts the Flyers in line for a serious run at the Cup. Without Weber, you might see too mant losing streaks, bad goals against and maybe a hard fight to make the playoffs.
The Flyers have to get this deal done. And, other than Giroux, no player should be off kimits in terms of getting a final deal done. |

league shoots down the offer sheet for cap circumvention(which includes a forfeited 1st round pick), nashville trades weber to the pens for 2 first rounders, flyers trade the schenns for bobby ryan |

The Flyers have a very good team. They put up over 100 points without Shea Weber. They are very young and will continue to grow. Not getting Weber doesnt end there chances at winning a cup. Hes ONE player and it takes a team to win. How many championships did Weber bring Nashville? |

I think that a trade will allow Nashville to take the loss of Weber better. If you think the Flyers are not gonna send some players Nashvilles way, you are mistaken. I really think that players will be traded to get Weber. |
