I think you need to learn to read. Nash as the cash. Also, it's called an investment. I'm a CPA paid multiple six figures to guide my clients in making such simple decisions. Matching is a no brainier and it will be my pleasure to come back here in a few days to say told you so.

The point the poster made and the article he referenced has zero to do with what team he is a fan of.

What's changed in the situation in 4 days? .
- MJL

didnt you say yesterday that the longer this goes, the better chance you feel Weber will be a Flyer?

The Flyers want Weber but I think they want him under their terms (meaning no Schenn or Couturier). I believe the Flyers are willing to trade but also take the risk of losing him if they match b/c they won't part ways with a super package.

Flyers 80%
Preds 20%

Just a gut feeling. But the particulars and the options presented to the Predators hasn't changed in the 4 days.

They are still the same, and are

1) match the offer
2) decline the offer, and take the pick
3) decline the offer and work out a trade.

So in terms of what the article was discussing, what has changed?

Colorado took all 7 days to match the Rangers offer sheet for Joe Sakic, (a long while back 95 or 96?) but they waited the whole week before matching

You would think by now they know if they can handle Weber's contract for short term and long term. Will they have the flexibility down the road, Im sure thats been discussed as well. The longer they wait the more it tells me they cant fit him in. The trade route is the only option to save face for Nashville, IMO.

The option of working out a trade isn't new in the last 4 days. It's always been one of the options.

I'll welcome you with open arms. Nice credentials. With training like that you'd think you'd be above petty insults involving literacy, but no. I'm sure your co-workers love you.

Problem is Nashville doesn't have deep pockets (based on prior spending). They have the opportunity to lock up their franchise player but can they afford it short-term and long-term and still have flexibility to be competitive? This is probably going to go the full seven.

I'm think they've had a enough time to look at all the projections, and know what each option will do for them. They can fit him in. There's no question about that in my mind. As I've said repeatedly, it's about which approach makes the most sense to them.

They were trying to work out a trade for days. I'm pretty sure those options have long been on the table. In my opinion, Holmgren already gave them his top offer.

It is new considering Poile continuously stated with confidence that he would match any offer given to Weber ...things have changed on that front.

agreed, like I stated earlier $15 million in Pittsburgh for 2 players may work, but not in Nashville., (aside form the huge up front payment)

Fitting him in is definately one thing but being able to make any other moves to improve the club is another. Will see what happens but if Nashville can fit him in and still be productive down the road they should match this offer already, IMO.

It's not new. It has been one of the options on the table since the OS was tendered.
