There is no way that dude knows about a PRIVATE call between Poile and Holmgren. More than likely, they've been having lots of calls over the last couple of days.

In other news, rain is wet.

The fact that not one legitimate source has called it true makes me believe that it is not...Dreger or somebody for TSN would be all over this if it were true

I love Weber but never let emotions get in the way during negotiations.

Would it be possible for the Preds to match, suffer the extreme signing bonus, and then trade him year after next? Hopefully getting closer to market value in return rather than having to take whatever the Flyers are willing to give?
- DrMidnite

It is possible....frankly I feel it Poile's only threatening chip to get more outta Homer..It really is a heads up poker match right now

After the Weber thing is over, and the mandatory 2 or 3 weeks of speculation on other moves, line combinations, etc., it will be fun to debate what is happening in the CBA discussions and what will/won't make it into the final agreement.
- TheGreat28

I wrote the new cba. You'll love it. We win every year. Malkin is banned and you can amnesty anyone. Mlj is the new vp and jsqa is gm

I think Homer would be willing to make a trade but he's not giving up Schenn or Couturier at this point.

I know its a very small part of the equation, but I would have to believe Weber's agent has informed Poile without a doubt Shea would prefer playing in Philly. Also, I'm sure the agent provided the Flyers with extensive information on what the Preds best offer to Weber was before the offer sheet was created.

I'm sure the league has definitely intervened and expressed a desire to a Gratton type trade if financially the Preds feel matching the offer sheet is not in the best interests of the organization.

Change Malkin to Crosby, let another team win once every 5 years, just to keep it interesting, and you're onto something

The whole reason it went the offer sheet way was because asking prices for Weber reportedly had both B.Schenn and Coots...This just put the leverage in Homers favor..I wonder if this was a frustration move from the whole summer..Nash and Ryan asking price were too high and Parise and Suter no thank you and when the price was so high for Weber I wonder if Homer just had enough

guess that's the way it should be, one rumor & we're all going nuts, like waiting the whole week isn't nuts enough

wish they had 7 minutes to match & not 7 days

if the preds were going to match today, it would not require a call with homer, the nhl would announce it, if there is a call it would be to work a trade, if they dont match i hope they just take the pics.

weber does not want to play in nash anymore, its obvious, so y would thye want to pay an unhappy player 60 mil over the next 3 years and keep him for 14 if he does not want to be there.

my hope is if they do work a trade it leaves room to sign doan also

also if they match, they would have to shell out like 30 mil in the next 11 months to rinne and weber

You would think if Homer was trying to make a trade with the Preds before the OS went in that the Preds would of asked atleast for one of Schenn or Couturier if Homer was unwilling to trade both.

i read on the 4th period that anaheim wanted shcenn and coots for ryan starit up

IF nash does not match and takes the pics, we would have some assets to trade for rick nash

Done.
I think getting married shout work via offer sheet. You summit s ring(offer sheet) to the girl. Her parents have one full week to match(accept) or decline. If they decline they must buy her a new car
And they stop dating immediately and can't again for one Calender year
