Its a joke they that the burger king look a like still talk sports in this town...what an ass - nonpoint22
Everything he has reported about the flyers for the past 5 years has happened. I hate the guy as much as the next, but when he reports stuff on the Flyers... he is accurate.
miscaculated the power of a re-tweet lol |

why would it be a conference call with Holmgren if there wasn't some kind of deal made. If the Preds were matching wouldn't it just be a conference call with Poile? |

Am I wrong or can a conference call be between anyone? Conference call does not mean the league is involved to be informed of anything... does it? |

He's an idiot, but he has some pretty good sources. So far, he's been dead on too often to ignore. Pronger injuries, Carter playoff injury, Carter, Richards and JvR trades, now the Weber offer sheet-which he reported right after the Finals.
If you're looking for analysis, ignore him. If you're looking for dirt... |

Just crunched the numbers again for the Flyers Off Season Cap figure. With Pronger, Weber's Cap hit, and re-signing Voracek for 4M. Using all the Off Season rules for calculating the Off Season Cap. The Flyers Off Season Cap figure would be $76,082,152. Which is below the 10% exemption of $77,020,000
So I stand by my opinion, that the Flyers can sign Weber and re-sign Voracek without making a deal. - MJL
Works on our end, but then Preds need $14 million in salaray to reach the floor with slim pickings left. |

Conference call generally means that the parties involved will be taking questions from the media |

He also reported after the Suter and Parise signings that the Flyers were ready to make a big splash still... sure enough, they did |

Technology. Guess its hard to seperate the real from the fake. Thats why I said I was looking to see if anyone at TSN was reporting it. Thats where I go b/c they usually are on point. |

Another reason why a deal for players going back to Nashville makes a lot of sense for both sides.

So then the media outlets would have been informed of this and it would have been out there... unless this hockeyinsider guy has top secret sources inside the flyers and predators front offices lol |

I think some teams are banking on the floor changing with the new CBA. |

Sounds like a bunch of malarkey... but if I were Poile and not matching, Sunday would be a good day to announce it. |

Yea, I did the same thing. I went to see if Dreger or McKenzie tweeted it. No there. I got real excited there for a second.

But salaries being rolled back would likely keep them in the same boat.

Its only a conference call. Not a press release. Probably to inform of a decision or work out more details for a trade. |

Yes, if it was a media call we'd be seeing Dreger, McKenzie and others tweeting about it.
If it's just a call between Poile and Holmgren, it might just mean that the Preds are telling the Flyers they reached a decision, so who knows. |

It will. The longer it goes, the more I think a deal is trying to be worked out. |

Possible, but so many variables. Percentage roll back, amnesty or grandfathering, etc. I wonder if teams will have to shed players to become cap compliant. That would be a way to get some bargains, if you're Nashville. |
