From a flyers fan perspective, the Sabres are a bit of a joke. If they are lucky to make the playoffs, then they will easily be defeated in the first round.

I do like Miller, but feel bad for him. The team went into disaster mode and tried to buy a team to get over the hump. Problem is they werent that close.

I would scrap the team and start over. And adopt the new jersey devils model. Start with defense first (team defense). Build through the draft. Try to develop some superstars and lock them up. It is very tough for a team like Buffalo which is by no means a destination city. Need to get creative and not waste money on the Leinos of the world.

This picture illustrates what is wrong with society today. Instead of enjoying each other's company, these guys are busy on their phones communicating with others not there.

I was at my daughter's soccer game recently and I observed her coaches not paying attention to the game. I wouldn't have been so bothered by it if they were talking to each other. What really annoyed me was they were texting.

It's also becoming all too common to see people together at a bar or restaurant who pay more attention to their phones than the people they are out with.

Not too many people think the Flyers are a contender with that abomination of a goalie you have. Unless Shea Weber can play 60 minutes you will have the same problems as last year, Luke Schenn is god awful by the way.

They just signed Griogrenko to an ELC worth 25K more than that. No way Ennis agrees to that.

Couldn't agree more. Sitting at airport at the gates, everyone is on laptops, IPads, phones etc.....no more face to face convo's!

the lack of production on the pp proves it's more then just lindy's system

you have a two on one, you bury the shot

you have a 3 on two, don't flub the puck to the d man

those common flaws are not a direct result from the system

I know many are frustrated with ruff and want change, but if they can't produce on the odd man rushes with lindy, the only reason why they would produce w/o lindy is their current lack of heart or desire

LIndy Ruff is the guy who tells people to always shoot on 2 on 1s, Ennis, Stafford and Foligno don't have any problems with making goals on passing plays up ice. Lindy Ruff was a no talent bum and he should let the skill guys play their game not yell at them every 5 seconds about a bad pass, I watched LIndy make horrible passes as Captain of the Sabres losing in the first rd every single year.

Ruff is in charge of the PP. That is one of those most misunderstood things in hockey. He's the boss, everything runs through him.

The Sabres PP is horrible!!! They do the same things every single time and LIndy switches all the players around all the time so they develop zero chemistry. Lindy has Myers so scared on pps. One pp you have Sekera on point, then Myers, then Roy was on point etc. pure nonsense.

Vanek is a great pp player and LIndy Ruff the greatest coach in history plays him minutes like a 3rd liner. I believe Vanek was number 100 or above in pp icetime for forwards. Pure nonsense. Other teams play the best players full pps when they are down a goal. I can't stand the 3-4 line changes per pp Lindy does. pp is all about chemistry and letting skill guys get in a rhythm.

The Kings played their best players the top minutes and full pp time when needed. I just want a normal coach for once.

Anyone else think they should be signing him to a longer deal? I'd be perfectly fine with a 4 year deal with avg. of $2.5-3 mil. That yearly average is peanuts for what other top 6 forwards are getting and it's a pretty low risk deal for the Sabres if he does bust,which I don't think will happen(low risk as in it wouldn't handcuff us salary wise, Ott's cap hit would still be bigger than his). Plus, even if we aren't happy after a year it seems that he does have trade value(based on the rumors regarding Bobby Ryan), and I'm pretty sure we have a couple new centers that could fill in the top 6 if Ennis does get traded.

Im sure his bonuses arent set a high benchmark considering Hodgson production last year and he reached his full bonus.

But Ennis value has already been set by what other players are signing for and hes proven himself. Darcy already told us Ennis looking for a 2-3 year deal.

Vanek has horrible conditioning IMO, thats why he isnt left on the ice for full pp's like Ovechkin or Kovalchuk, watch him towards the end of his shifts, he struggles.
