Dial the arrogance down a bit would ya. Thanks.
When you stated "We lost that game and were out of the playoffs 2 or 3 games later." it sounds like you are pointing the finger. Obviously, I misinterpreted. You've corrected that.

If his only effect on the game was negative then I would share your opinion of him. But I can't overlook his contribution to this team.

Playoff performances like the one he had against Nashville keeps me positive. His Selke nominations and Trophy keeps me positive.

I was pointing the finger but not laying the blame for that season on him. I was pointing the finger on where his mind is at such critical times...pretty much on his own.

So you don't share my opinion that he goes too far with the diving and yapping because of his positives(are you sure on this?)? I cant just put blinders on and pretend differently...I can give credit for both. Maybe you are making an assumption of my opinion?

Gotta agree with Vantel—can't stand the NFL. CFL is a more exiting game, and it doesn't help that all the players (like the NBA) act like clowns.
- Fosco

I agree as well, I think the NFL and Baseball are designed for very short attention spans, lots of time to drink or whatever in between plays or pitches.

Did I enter the twilight zone or are you people really saying that John Carlson has proven worthy of an expensive xtra-long-term contract...???
- GhostOfDCT

Is five years long term now? I'd say he's worth top 40 D money for 5 years

Really, because I don't see his name anywhere in the Norris voting list? I do see Hamhuis at 10th, and Edler at 15th though. Not suggesting that he won't be as good as these guys, only that he isn't being mentioned with them now. Personally, I've never seen him play, don't know anything other than what the career stats say, which is dynamic player in junior, less so in AHL and now a solid contributor in NHL. Looks like he could hit more (given his size) and his giveaway numbers are a little high but he's still young.

Reading Yost's blog about Voracek possibly recieving an offer sheet got me thinking about whether he would be a good fit on the Kesler line.

He hasn't quite lived up to expectations, but he's a playmaking winger with decent assist totals over the past few years.

Any offer sheet amount that Philidelphia wouldn't match probably wouldn't be worth the compensation, and would likely take him out of the affordable category, though.

Edit: I hope Doan makes a decision soon, so the Canucks can move on to the alternatives (or lack thereof).

SP is a telling stat but Luongo had a way better defence in front of him than Price did. Also I like how you pick 50 games so he would fit into the top 10, Halak and backstrom had a better SP and still played 46 games which would make him a starter. Also I wouldn't consider the goalie ranked 10th in SP to be an Elite goalie considering there are only 22 goalies who started 50 plus games and most are pretty close to Luongo's .919. ( 17 of the 22 players had a .915 or better) When you take into consideration the team he played in front of his stats aren't that good.

Where did he finish for Vezina voting this year? The guy is getting older and ya 2 years ago he was one of the best in the league but at this point he has fallen off. Many young goalies coming up who are just better than him.

- Habsforever101

The same was said about Thomas when Rask took his job away from him at age 36, then he came back to life won a Vezina, Conn Smythe and a Stanley Cup. Lu is no where near the end of his rope!

Before expansion we never played in that East Coast league of six. Nor did the Womens National Hockey team , so if you are going to say that you are better than us becuase you won cups in a league that we never played in, then have at er.

You should get as much satisfaction from that, as a Swede would saying they won more Spengler Cups than you.

I'm 100% onboard with you brother, we couldn't win any Cups in the early 1900's if we didn't play for them or even exist.

Over the same time frame of the Canucks and Leafs existence, we've had a much more successful franchise. It pains them to admit that though.

You guys are all high as a kite if you don't think Dallas would match any offer for Benn. They've jettisoned Ott and Ribs two fan favorites, loosing Benn would be a PR disaster. After missing the playoffs for so long, and the mess Hicks made of the team they can't afford any negative publicity.

It's clear this team is building around Lou, Benn, and a bunch of kids.

Benn is part of the solution, he's the future of the franchise, he's not going anywhere.

Just because Gaglardi and Nieuwendyk haven't thrown stupid money at free agents, don't think they won't spend to retain a player like Benn.

Are you sure about that? Agreed, any offer to Benn would be matched, unless it was Weber Epic, and then anyone offering it would have less smarts than a bag of hammers.

I agree, they need to keep Benn! It's just wishful thinking on our part. He's a helluva player that's for sure.

He's Washingtons best defenseman Do you think a bunch of media morons know what's going on? They voted Erik "giveaway" Karlsson as the Norris trophy winner. Embarrassing. I get he's a point producer but you have to be very good defensively to win. He didn't deserve it. Eastern bias. Maybe watch some hockey other than the Canucks. Carlson is an absolute stud.

Now you've misinterpreted my response.
I stated that I agree with you in regards to going to far with the diving and yapping. Quite clearly. No blinders.
But you use terms like "He's damaged goods", "He hurts the team with it", "disgsting", "totally selfish" and "complete lack of shame". I disagree with the intensity of your scorn.

Anyway, I just disagree with you. No biggy. I appreciate having Kesler on this team even with all the BS he does.

Fair enough but what you are saying sounds strange coming from someone who had "TRADE KESLER" in his location for a few months...
