I would be OK with Voracek, Meszaros and 2 1sts. I look at it like this, if there was no offer sheet, would Voracek, Meszaros & 2 firsts have been acceptable in a trade for Weber? I think a lot of folks would say yes.

Hell, there were people willing to include one of Schenn or Couturier in a trade for Weber and Jake isn't rated as high as those two are. It's not really a matter of not liking Voracek or Meszaros, and I have no issue giving Nashville value to guarantee that the Flyers get Weber.

It helps that I'm OK with it either way. I'm perfectly fine if the Preds match and the Flyers add a guy like Doan, or even wait for the season. I'm also cool if they don;t match and the Flyers surrender the 4 1st or if they work out a fair trade to make it palatable for the Preds owners/GM

I won't lie. If the Flyers end up having Shea Day next Wednesday, I will be buying a Weber jersey, and wearing nothing else, will run down the streets naked signing praises of Weber and his massive playoff beard until arrested by the local police.

I don't have a gut feeling either way. The financials make it a difficult decision for Nashville. But tough doesn't mean impossible. They CAN match the offer. They may well decide that they can't match and build a competitive team around Weber's deal and Rinne's huge deal.

As for Doan, he's visiting, but still giving the Coyotes every possible opportunity to fix things.

That could be negotiable. I think that after getting Voracek and Meszaros, my next move would be to get a guy like Bouwmeester if I'm Poile. Get solid players, that can get me to the floor, and not have to pay more than cap hit in salary-i.e. no bonuses.

Another factor to consider is where does #6 really want to play? Poile is going to have to speak with Shea and determine if he is going to be content in a cash strapped franchise once they make this huge financial commitment?

The dollars being equal what do you think Shea is going to tell Poile? This IMO will cause a trade to happen which will allow NASH to exit with a better package of players instead of the 4 picks. Homer will acquiesce to the deal that he was prepared to do before he threw down the OS.

Jake, Mez, + 2 1sts which will allow the Flyers the cap space to go after Doan and land the franchise prototype Dman in his prime.

Which seems more realitsitc that them signing Weber. The ownership may say that getting value back and trading for a piece, that wont bankrupt them, may be 10x mroe sensible
