Rick Westhead of TSN broke big news today in locking down the names of five players directed to surrender to London, Ontario police to be charged with sexual assault in connection to a June 2018 incident occurring at a Hockey Canada event.

Despite firm denial from both Dillon Dubé and his legal representation, the Calgary Flame is apparently involved. The Flames winger was named today as one of the five. New Jersey's Cal Foote and Michael McLeod, Philidelphia's Carter Hart, and former Ottawa Senator Alex Formenton are the other four.

Dillon put his team in an absolutely brutal situation. The 56th overall pick in 2016 took an indefinite leave from the team to attend to his mental health on January 21, 2024. The Flames organization supported him in the move.

Days later, Hart, McLeod, and Foote took leaves citing personal reasons. More details will come out when the London PD holds a media availability next Monday on February 5.

Dube briefly spoke to Calgary media regarding the matter in September of 2022.

“I’ve cooperated in any way possible and will continue cooperating. I’ve done everything I can to cooperate,” Dube told reporters.

“With (the investigation) going on, I wish I could share more. But that’s all I can share to this point. I would love to be transparent. I know that’s all I can really say on it to be honest. For me, I wish I could tell.”

Dillon Dubé's legal representation provided a release to the media following the news breaking today. They're pleading not guilty.
